Really awesome set. Hope we get more like this in the future, whatever the line/scale is.

Supes is about 6 Inches. Doomsday bigger, didn't measure exactly. I consider all ICONS on the "small 6 inch scale". They will not work well with Marvel Legends etc.

Solicitation has them at:

DOOMSDAY—7.1″
SUPERMAN—6.1”

Was about to order this beauty when I realized just how many Doomsday figures I have that I never, ever display.

Spent my money on Mezco's GitD Space Ghost instead.

I get the feeling that if Icons had been doing sets like this from the beginning, we wouldn't be talking about the line coming to an end.

It sounds bad to say, but I hope Essentials isn't that successful, and that we go back to Icons. The scale doesn't matter much to me, because we got such an amazingly diverse cast of characters and accessories. The fact that we aren't getting more is a disservice, because now not many of these figures have others in-continuity to go with them. This is why I like the two-pack so much; hopefully they keep doing this sort of thing if Icons comes back. I'll keep supporting the line until it does.

I haven't stopped to count, but I seem to have an abundant plethora of Super & Spider Man figures on my shelves. I did not set out for this milestone, but I don't think I need to augment this collection with a hairy Kryptonian.

DC Icons COULD have been a decent line, but DCU Classics did the job sooner & better. Icons seemed puny and brittle. And any New52 versions left me cold.

While there are good things about this set, the fact that Doomsday's elbow joints are engineered perpendicular to the way they ought to be really irked me about this set. I tend to like the bigger, bulkier characters best as toys, so I was really looking forward to the variety this unique bulky-built Doomsday was going to offer to my Hulk and other BAF displays until I saw I couldn't bend his arms properly. Since then the figure was returned to his place in the box and I'm not sure what to do with him now. This was the first thing I noticed with this set, and yet it isn't even mentioned in the review. Am I the only one who believes it isn't too hard to engineer an elbow joint correctly? This is the sort of thing that will forever keep DC Direct from really impacting the toy industry, because they just won't get their quality up there to match those companies that can engineer elbows correctly, each and every time.

What about dremeling the bicep piece on the Doomsday figure to accept more of a bend? Has anyone done this? I know it sucks having to correct something like this. I saw photos of someone who did this to the Suicide Squad Katana figure and it made a huge difference.

I've been considering correcting it to salvage this toy, given that I've dropped $65 or so on it. I imagine heating the arms, separating them, then dremeling/sawing out a crevice into the arm so it properly supports correct anatomical movement, and then trying to fill in the gap left from the original cut with epoxy putty that is pigmented to the exact same shade of gray of Doomsday... It'll be a bit of a chore. I suspect I will attempt it eventually, but I've too many other non-hobby urgent tasks I need to attend to first. When I have time... I just wish people would do their jobs correctly. How hard is it to get an elbow joint correct?
