that's about US$19.50 each figure....
Ouch....

They've been trickling into Target, some on endcaps, but as usual I haven't seen them. I just got the Daredevil pack with the best Daredevil so far. So I might pass on Shadowlands Daredevil.

interesting. This same scenario played out in 1999-2001ish, with wall street in a bit of a panic about dotcoms and toy companies panicking about video games, as they are in 2012. They jumped up the prices in 2000, thinking parents and collectors "will just buy them anyway" and it came back and bit them in their asses. Almost every major retailer had intense clearance sales in 2001 and scaled back almost every line.

And then in 2002, we saw a HUGE price *decrease* across the board... first Hasbro then Mattel followed suit... As well as a huge quality decrease as well.

Madrid is much better toy hunting than where I live (Barcelona is even better ), and things are not as expensive in some shops, but still it's expensive.

Here people buy far, far less toys for kids, and they are def considered "luxury" items to adult collectors. They are imports, like how Japanese stuff is for the States. Some friends who have seen my collection in the states think I'm crazy or rich or both (and I have very little compared to some of you guys.)

Things balance out though: My wife and I can go out to eat at a good restaurant, have good food, and have a ton of beers or glasses of wine, for under $15. Can't often do that in most of the states.

Gas here [in my area] is 1.18/L so...4.72ish a Gallon? Taxes in my province is 12% too. So over 12 dollars per figure. Mcdonalds here is 6-7 dollars with taxes for DOLLAR MENU SHIT. Everyone has it rough dude but if you want to see inflated prices, go to Canada. Also curious as to what your minimum wage is in your state too dude.

Even normal restaurants where my wife and I could escape for 35 bucks, we cant get a meal for less than 50 bucks anywhere. Prices do what they do... go up! I cant complain too much.. there are many people worse off so...

IMO if $9 figures are too much this year then you shouldnt have been buying $8 figures LAST year. (unless your situation has changed in a major way)

This. Inflation and time value of money will lead to price increases every year. Unless you haven't had a payrise to match inflation, there should be no severe need to gripe and moan if your situation is exactly the same.

in all honesty im not here to debate who has it rougher man,I get it,canada over charges,we here in the states are starting to see it now and are not used to it hence the complaints, but I get a little tired of the "now you know how we feel" stuff, moving on.

Went to Target, nothing new, would be happy with a revision case. I did see these a month ago at lcs.

Due to inflation, I rarely go out and enjoy a night on the town, don't go out to eat as much, don't go to the movies unless its something I really want to see, (and about 4 movies this summer). So I drink at home, cook more often, use redbox, and buy older comics for a Buck. Now I can afford to buy MU and Transformers....whenever they decide to stock them. I also use bbts cause hunting MU sucks on a budget (gas prices) and part of town.

Totally feel ya, Soundwave- and yes, BBTS is often cheaper than hunting endlessly for months before buying a fig online anyway!

Before I used to just pay mark-up for only the really HTF figs at my LCS and then hunt for all the other figs from that wave at retail. But now I cannot even find any of the figs at retail. LOL.

I already bought my Psylocke from my LCS, but I still want a Storm. The only wave my Target got a bunch of was the Magneto/Iceman/Astonishing Wolvie wave... they had bazillions of that wave. But after that... nothing new since Christmas.

Madrid is a phenomenal city. my wife and i stayed @ my friend's studio on Arenal - at la Puerta del Sol, in the heart of town. we had the time of our lives. so many shops, but i never found toys. the thought never came to mind! we ate the best food ever. i speak Spanish, so i was home. i've never been to Barcelona nor Sevilla, but i will. You are a lucky man. My wife and I were so smitten that we didn't want to come home to Los Angeles. I still have "Spain withdrawals." We plan to live there for a couple of years in the future, if time and luck permit.

highlights: Mahou Beer. Malasaña nightlife. Real Madrid @ Bernabeu! HALA MADRID!!
