Any ideas? I’m very new to diorama-building, but have a background in art so I’m happy to make stuff. I just need a floor for my NECA Alien figures. The lazy option is to take the Alien Queen floor packaging, scan and print, but I’d prefer to make a realistic surface.

I have some ideas but thought I’d appeal to your collective wisdom before starting anything.

Not sure why the rule is, as a newbie that I cannot share links, but this guy in this video has the idea. Buy a fish filter for $10 or so from your local pet store and add your desired paint schemes.
The video on You Tube is called "Aliens Diorama Time Lapse Painting". Good luck, my friend!

Styrene pattern sheets?

By Alien Queen floor you mean the egg laying area? Cause for that you can use the moon floor pattern, put some eggs around and that should look fine.

If you mean the docking area with the grate floor, i dunno. Im sure you can go a train model shop and find all sorts of thing you can probably use for that.

Just search for styrene, there's all sorts of different shapes.
