I don't get here often and I get the figs when I see them and as time goes on now that I am infected by heroclix I have less money. I saw a thread about them being "rebranded"? Is this true? Tell me those little awful pieces of plastic now showing up is not what has befallen this line? I had hoped for some Alpha Flight pieces to go with Guardian and Puck but has it disappeared? I live way of the beaten path and it takes a while for stuff to get here so should I be giving up hope?

The answers I might seek could be hidden in some of these threads but the ones that hold what I want to know are probably really long and hidden. Any help would be cool.

I've been following this story for a while. As of right now I think this is what is happening:

The Marvel Universe line will be rebranded as a new Avengers line. This is not to be confused with the Avengers Assemble line which is 1) based off of the TV show and 2) featuring only 5 points of articulation. The new Avengers line will still have MU styling. Hasbro said that this rebranding was to breath some new life and marketing into the Marvel 3.75 line.

That's only the discount line. The regular Avengers Assemble line has full movie (Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man 2) articulation.

The last MU branded wave will have Aurora/Nortstar as variants. They may be hard to get but they are being made.

Those darn Heroclix take too much of your money. I've been trying to get rid of all mine this year.

hey dude here's the scoop. There are about 2 waves left after the Electra series. The upcoming abomination/ cloakand dagger series then the one with black knight and aura and northstar from alpha flight alternating. After that they are changing the name to avengers cause its a more marketable name to the kiddies.

they aren't changing it to avengers forever, every year will have a new theme, I believe X-Men is to follow. Hopefully this will breathe life into heavily requested characters.

I'd heard recently that they decided not to do the X-Men line the following year.

Since Wolverine was or is technically an X-man and an Avenger, I guess it wouldn't matter. Either way he's gonna be made.

And probably not in any version or costume that we don't already have.

I think I'm just about done with the MU line. I HATE the new female mold they use. Hilariously thin and frail arms and hips that don't pose worth a damn. Then there is the Cyclops/Baron Zemo mold where the hips pop off. The way the articulation is handled makes these smaller figures just so fragile feeling.

On the other hand, I picked up an Avengers Assemble Falcon and he's freakin awesome. Plastic feels sturdy, joints are sturdy, and articulation is plentiful. Really all he is missing are the wrists and I can forget that due to the way the wings are. At least his fists are in a great position.

It's sad that I actually hope they ditch the MU molds and move towards the new AA stuff. The ball hips just aren't working. I'll take the old female molds over the new ones any day (minus she-hulk. That one is great).

Ahhh... I still remember going to Walmart looking for some 25th Joes and seeing all the MU figs... rows upon rows. I think it was Christmas time and it was the wave with Blade... all those Hobgoblins and Johnny Storms killed the line at my Walmart though.

Looking at my little MU X-men collection (with Showdown gray Beast)... it was all worth IMO. Never would have dreamed I would get fully articulated 3.75" X-men figs to go along with my Joes.
