I would consider doom's and redskulls to be more like a thrown, a non moving type chair, from my comic knowledge neways. I mean in the sence that you never see Prof x,Modok or Kang usually walking anywhere they movement is based upon the chair they sit in. Modok's mainly because his head is 3 times his body size and walking would either kill him or make him topple over. Kang can walk but is so powerful he chooses to sit and control "the world" from his arm chair keypads. Xavier on the other hand was crippled and forced to use the chair, some versions it's simply a wheelchair and othertimes it's this badass hover chair. Mojo is another 1 you could add, but his chair is technically a robotic spider so dunno if he's truely a chair man, or just some freak cousin of Jabba the hut who's into robotics lol.

It is clearly Prof. X's chair IMO.

Agreed, this is professor x's chair, now how they end up packaging it, as either a deluxe, exlusive, comic 2 pack or 2 individual single cards is hard to say. he is a key and vital character in the Marvel Universe, so to make him a cc exclusive would piss a lot of hardcore collectors off. But at the same time I dunno how retail sales for him would go over mainly with kids, for us adults we know the tie he has to the xmen and the importance he has, but kids will just see him as a handicapped mutant haha.

He will be one of those figures everyone wants, and no one will see. Question is, is he going to be in a suit an tie? Or his field gear..

Honestly, I am the complete opposite of what you said haha. All depends how Hasbro does it. If he comes with a suit with his chair, you can remove his chair and just have him standing with the Iluminati, which would be my main reason to get him. Then somehow I would have to customize a Black Bolt.

Thinking about it we could possibly make a field gear Proff X using a GI Joe body.

What a lovely display that would be. We just need us a Black Bolt now.

Well, is he a current member still? In the early Heroic Age days when Red Hood got the Infinity Gauntlet, Black Bolt wasn't around, I think.

I have no idea. When I think about the Illuminati, I think of Dr. Strange, Reed Richards, Professor X, Black Bolt, Namor and Tony Stark. I thought they disbanded due to Secret Invasion and not being able to trust each other.

Watch, guys: the chair will be single carded, and Xavier will be MU's first BAF.

They "officially" disbanded during then, yes. But they still find themselves responsible to protect the infinity gems and come together to make the tough decisions. Commander Rogers was tired of all the secrets and told them if they are doing this, he is going to be involved in the decision making.

Have you been keeping up with Fear Itself? I know Rogers is Cap again, does that mean he keeps the persona and runs shield?

Nope. I haven't read anything since Dark Reign. I got tired of the mega-crossovers because I felt compelled to pick up all the titles that tied in so I could get the whole story from all perspectives. But that really expensive, really quick. And I'm too addicted to toys and DVDs, so it was either comics or toys. I think we all know which I went with

That's good news, the chair looks great, and it's about damn time. It's going to be interesting to see how they go about selling this. Does Chuck get his very own special release (I don't think that chair is really just a MU accessory)? Will this be some sort of an exclusive? Answers, Hasbro! Pronto!
If they price out the lines like they do with Star Wars, a large figure is usually offset by some smaller repaint figures in the wave. Pricing is usually done per wave, not per figure. That might also explain the 5 figure waves recently with one large figure. |
