So in the other post I talked about the Marvel Super Hero line. As awesome as that was there was something lacking, namely the merry mutants known as the X-Men. I loved Cap and friends, but i really wanted to add Wolverine into the group.
Summer of 1991 made that a reality. Like I said in the other thread i used to call Toy Biz and a few times I mentioned Wolverine to them. One rep told me to be on the lookout sooner then later and I just might get that wish. I was in Florida visiting my grandparents and we went to the mall. They had a K-B toys there so we stopped in. Low and behold on the shelfs was X-Men series one! I was stoked. My Grandparents said I could get two, So I chose Wolverine and Magneto and my brother picked out Nightcrawler and Colosus. We stayed for a month that year and by the end of the summer I had all of series one. This was a great line that produced alot of awesome characters and would later even spawn an X-Force line. Shoot we even got two Deadpool Figures out of it among a host of others. And to this day they made the best Iceman ever (even the blue one was cool) Kudos to Toy Biz for taking a chance with these characters and giving us a long and encompassing line. Here's two visual guides to refresh your memories X-Men Toys Welcome To Raving Toy Maniac

That Nightcrawler Figure was just Phenominal! I also loved MORPH and BEAST. I liked MOJO, grey Storm, Wolverine, Weapon X, Logan and Sauron. I have almost all the first few series MOC. I will try to take some pics in the coming week or so and post them here for some of you to enjoy.

I really loved the fact that Wolverine (well at least the first one released) was actually in scale to the other characters. i agree Nightcrawler was great as was the 2nd Version of Apocylpse.
I was into Excalibur back then and one of my regrets was that they never got to Captain Britain or Rachael Summers. I did paint Storm into Meagan when I was younger, she actually worked well as a straight repaint.

I still have my Cannonball figure from that line. I regret I don't still have the others since I pretty much had them all(except every Wolvie and the villains). I do agree that an Excalibur sub-set would have been nice since the New Mutants did get their own figures.

I loved that Magic figure but i never picked it up. Some of the later stuff like the ones that had the snap on Monster pieces were kinda silly though.

I liked Magik cause she came with Lockheed. The others in that line I didn't care for. I think I still have Shatterstar in a box somewhere here.

I had (and still have most) of the figures from this line, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, X Force and so on. The play value on these all are pretty much excellent and without a doubt I think posterity will really shine on this line as to it's importance in the grand scheme of things. To this day my best friend and I still laugh out loud about Richter and a couple others, and I'll never forget the moment I found the first Wolverine figure after waiting so long for one.

I always opened mine(of course I open everything)but didn't really play with them. Opened them, fixed the accessories then up on a shelf they went. Had pretty much all of them up until the New Mutants line then I'd get one every so often depending on the character.

I still have all of my X-men figs. Some of them are still MOC too but I got around to opening most of them. The variety of characters was great but the sculpting and style were also all over so it made it hard to put some characters next to each other in a display.
My favorites were pretty much all of the light up series with Gambit, Juggernaut, and Nightcrawler. Also the first tiger stripe Wolvie, 2nd Apocalypse, 3rd Iceman with the AoA type face, Archangel......hmm I think I'll stop there because otherwise I might name every figure I have. |

Iceman is definitely cool. But I particularly like Wolverine's Motorcycle. That's the kind of stuff I would do if I were rich and had money to throw around: put my own face on a motorcycle.

All The cool people do that, it would rock. There's a tow truck around here with the Hulk painted on it, it;s pretty awesome. I'll have to try to take a picture of it one day.

I got my taste of the first wave at a KB Toys also! Great stuff. My first was Nightcrawler. By that Christmas I had em all. I already liked the comics, but getting those toys at that age really helped fuel my interest in Marvel for the years to come. From that wave on up through the later years of Toy Biz's pre ML stuff I was totally hooked on their products!
Cool thing is that I do still have the majority of em! The collection is not total perfection though. Sadly, I do have a few I broke for dumb reasons or lost in a move, like any younger kids would've, but at least I'll always have the memories for those particular ones, and man, they're absolutely great. |

I have too many of these.... haha.
If anyone wants a vintage MOC x-man character to complete your collection you can PM me. They live in boxes and remain permanantly encased in carbonite. I would be willing to release them if wanted. I also really like the deluxe 12" Wolverine. I have many of the 12" figures they came out with. However, that was the one with the inter-changable accessories and lots of detail. It is still really cool.

Hey Doug. if you have a loose Deadpool 2 (or even 1) for cheap I'd be interested.

PM me if that's what you're interested in. They would be MOC not opened.
