I like the Reaction stuff. It’s meant to have that retro Kenner look, and the Universal Monsters were great. I’ve also got their Jaws shark, which is a fantastic sculpt.

I’ll echo those saying McFarlane. A lot of their stuff is pretty sloppy.

Its more so the cheap quality and price than its retro-look.

The price is the issue. I don’t mind the cheap quality look as it’s within keeping with the general concept. They look suitably retro, which has its own charm.

The packaging is very poor though. I liked the screenshots for the Universal Monsters, but the cards were generally warped, and the plastic casing tends to fall off if you cough in the general vicinity. However, I’m such a fan of the Universal horrors that I kind of love them for making these figures.

I just wish they had been consistent. The Phantom is incredibly well sculpted, which looks out of place. The Mummy, Wolfman, and Bride are well made. Dracula and Frankenstein’s monster look generic, but passable. The Invisible Man is absolutely perfect. That’s a truly magnificent sculpt, and genuinely one of the best figures I’ve seen. Hard to lay into ReAction when they produced that gem.

Playmates' attempt at an adult collector TMNT line was laughable.
