Just curious through reading all the reviews online and such especially on my own collection, why are the joints in this particular wave so soft and gummy? I heard it was in the Winter Soldier wave too, but never confirmed it as I was uninterested in the wave. What's goin' on Mahvel?

That's been the same thing for most Hasbro figures lately.

Really? Last wave I got was the Spidey 2, and they were fine. When did it start? O.o...and is it worrysome? I got Nova from GotG and his legs flex oddly when doing power poses. Ordered the entire wave due to GotG being soooooo DOPE! But it was kind of a let down and worrysome they might break just by posing T_T youtube reviewers don't even mention it.

Both my Carnage and Nova have slightly flimsy joints, but not too much in the way that they feel like they'll break. I feel like because of how they're soft, but still firm enough, they might be likely to last as long as, or more than hard plastic joints. On some of my older figures (none from Marvel that I recall) with hard plastic joints about as thin as these new Legends joints, after periods of inactivity they became brittle and snapped under low pressure. So maybe the slightly flimsy plastic is for the better.

Found 2 Nova the other day and yes they are flimsy and makes me not want to collect ML anymore. Can anyone tell me if SW Black has the same issue or not?

It is my understanding that they have adapted a new formula for their plastic that is much cheaper to produce. So this may become the new standard across the board. Some of the factory lines, I have read, have gotten the change-over injection moulding presses required for the newer plastic. The rest will most likely get the newer moulding equipment as well. Whatever that means...

We will see how it all pans out though, but at least for now, soft serve plastic for all lines is a strong probability. Don't know when it really started and if it is the way forward, but more than one collector has bowed out of the game due to the recent changes. Im still in, but my figures come from eBay or toyark not retail stores.

True with old Lego Bionicles, joints tended to snap. However for Nova and ESPECIALLY Iron man in my set of GotG they are so soft to the point where when they stand their legs flop outwards. and ukmu if this is the case then it seems they dont care about customers anymore. Thing is, even bending at the elbow or knees makes these figures feel like they'll snap apart. HOWEVER, I tested this with an extra BAF piece I had. I bent groot's arms fully to the left and right COMPLETELY and it did not snap or contort in any way. It only made the joint feel looser, but with a hairdryer it came back into place perfectly fine. The fact of durability is AMAAZING, however posing and feeling cheap and flimsy...NO...It wasn't like this on superior spidey, when did it officially start? Might as well start going into Hot Toys or something..

I know that with some of my older Legends, I have to gingerly manipulate their joints: Series One (and two) Hulk - ab joint, Series 9 Iron Man - shoulder joint (recently, I have actually broken my grey version), Series 14 Falcon - hip joint, Wave 2 Yellowjacket - hip joint, and I worry about the leg on my Ares BAF (although my worries aren't really merited since they are based on other people's experiences...my fig seems good)

I tend to agree that these new joints may last longer, but I won't know until time passes and I can observe how they age. I collect and keep loose, but I meticulously bag & re-box. I have a smoke free home (I sound like a damn eBay "loose fig" listing) and my figs are kept dry (maybe too dry). This is more of an issue for loose collectors. I imagine MOC collectors don't care so much.

I do admit that the funky elbows (separation at the joint) bothers me and I have already implemented counter measures to rectify the issues when they arise (I lay them on the offending side for days at a time - usually works). Time will tell much with these new designs...

My Groot BAF, has a wobbly right arm and a very stiff right leg T_T worries me. And Spyne98 where do you see these Xmen figs? I don't see any within the five borughs (also from NY) and BlueMarvel, hairdryer works better no? I mean the flexibility is better for long term especially the durability of bending all the way left and right and twisting but they can't even stand up and posing etc.

I wear my hair in a "caesar"...I don't own a hairdryer...no need lol This new plastic is so soft that a day on its side usually fixes any problem with the figure.

I also live in the Ny tri-state...no x-men....most likely, I'm just going to order the set.

Blue Marvel, ah alright. Idk with the soft plastic and the already shoddy built figures I might just move to hot toys as my groot has problems already T_T. Wobbly arm feels like it won't last and the leg is stiff as hell, and that's on top of the soft joints. Ny never has any good new figs, plus cons have bad exclusives and the toy community here is so weak T_T....shoutouts to NYCC lol. I rather pick em up in stores than online, but even scalpers are non existent here cause of the non existent figs.
