This thread is for ideas on what Iron Men figures are essential to an 'Iron Man Hall of Armor'. Show photos of your halls of armor as well as suggestions for the essential figures in said halls and why. Truthfully I wasn't going to bother with too many Iron Men because there are too many but I bought a couple of the comic series ones and now I'm hooked so I'm peg hunting. I look forward to getting this set up once I find the figs.

Your suggestions can be movie or comic lines just make your case, thanks

well , if your going to do comic then i would say all , but if you want to save money just get the ones that are from the movies it depends on what you want to do, i personally like the movie ones cause there more morden , but if you want all of the armours i would go for the comic series.

I think there might actually be more movie suits than comic suits, it's just the comic suits are worth more. I personally only collected the Comic Series and a few of the Concept series like the Deep Sea armour and the Vibranium Armour and the ugly ones that came with it. I also ended up getting the Hulkbuster 3 pack which sucks goat. The original Comic Series Hulkbuster blows this Movie Series Iron Monger with a shitty new Hulkbuster head out of the water. I'd say that if you wanted a nice set, you should get all the Iron Man 2 Comic Series armours, the Vibranium suit, the Iron Man figures from MU, and MKI to MK VI of the Movie Series (just the basic ones).

I have all the movie armors, comic series modern and arctic, a repaint of the movie MK III as the comic Stealth armor, the comic Hulkbuster, and the vibranium, as well as a few MU ones. Personally my favorites are the movie ones. Best articulation, most detail, cleanest look... and hoenstly, the movie versions are way cooler than anything the comics have produced.

I am a huge Iron Man fan. I picked up the entire Iron Man 2 series, and with them being on clearance now, it wouldn't be as expensive as it was when I was getting them all. Let me know if you are having trouble finding a certain one and I will look around here for you.

Kmart. They are down to $5.00 a piece. Yesterday they were taking an additional 20% and a couple of weeks before that they were doing 50% off. The 3 pack was $15.00 plus the additional off.

My Wal-Mart has the iron man 2 3.75" line for 1 dollar each. And they still barely move. Lol. Maybe because they are all mark IV lol.

i have all the comic series iron men, plus a almost all of the MU series armors.
essential though? Thats all based on personal preference. There is no essential armor because starks designs are based on an evolutionary change

I'm partial to the Silver Senturion Armor. I try to stick to the comic figs but the movie line Iron Man toys are all good and have there uses. I just don't like that I had to replace every single MU Iron Man with the movie version because of how scrawny they look.

Somewhere here on Toyark there is a thread that shows pictures of every Iron Man armor that has been used in the comics. I can't seem to find the thread at the moment though....

If you're shooting for a specific set or subset, like the most iconic armors, then it could be a fairly manageable list. My personal armory would consist of the following (all comic unless otherwise noted):

Mark I (Gray)
Mark I (Gold)
Classic Red/Gold (non-winged helmet)
Silver Centurion
War Machine
Hulkbuster
MU Extremis
MU Bleeding Edge

If you mean a complete armory for Tony, then see below:

I'm too am a huge Iron Man fan.. I only collect armors that make appearances in the Comics or on Film though. I recently bought some mirrored acrylic and I plan on making a display case for them like what was on marvellegends.net (which is making a comeback!!).

That is pretty much exactly my set up. Minus the gold and plus a classic stealth and a few concepts. My only other advice would be to not make the collection too huge unless you sort out a really good way of displaying them all in the "suit-hangar" style.

I'm a big Iron man fan and to me the essential hall of armous should have, Mark1, mark 2, mark 3, Mark iv, Mark vi, War Machine, silver centrium, Hulkbuster, ThorBuster, Vibranium Cap suit, modular armour, extremis armour, advanced armour, stealth, classic costume (the same that was released in the avengers box set) and house of m. *We don't have house of m released but we need 1.

other possabilities: would be from the young avengers movie, the avenger armour line, some gimicky suits like hydro, electic, space. Or add a Pepper Potts, Rhody, Jarvis, mechanical arms to remove the suit and his tools, cars etc...

I've got...
MKI (comic) - Really want the movie version too but haven't found it.
MKII (movie)
MKVI (movie)
War Machine (movie)
Iron Patriot (if that counts)

I really want to get MK I through to VI to have them in a nice array. I think in Dioramas, where as in reality they're taking up a lot of my shelf space...

Armour I want to get my hands on
Hulkbuster
Stealth
Winter (purely because it's purple)

For the comics, my selection would be:

-Original Armor (Either gray or gold- if you want to get really picky you need the gold suit from the Classic Avengers boxset since Tony painted the gray suit gold in his second appearance)
-Classic Armor (I prefer the non-pointed-mask Iron Man 2 version. Great Gene Colan look to it)
-Silver Centurion (Man, I wish I liked the IM2 figure better- all the details are off because it's a remold of...)
-Neoclassic Iron Man
-Hulkbuster
-War Machine
-Advanced Armor
-MU Extremis
-MU "Modular"/Bleeding Edge

There's some holes in there, which I'm hoping Hasbro will fill come Iron Man 3. Like the real Modular Armor for one. The `90s as a whole are tragically underrepresented, and I say this without a trace of irony.

Hmmm, I don't know, man. I like the comic series figures a lot more than the movie ones but then I like the old school comics a lot more than I do the new movie inspired and Ultimate and all that stuff.

Here's my current set up (except I changed my T-Man/Dynamo vs Stark Display around, and I have Modular War Machine and Horned Mask Classic Iron Man now too.), until I start/finish making my case.

I have almost every armour in your pics minus House of M ,faceoff. I'm missing the hereos reborn iron man and ultimate warmachine, but they're coming to me soon.

Also the stealth version of the ML 2pack I'm missing, and the more rare series 1 ML stealth, anybody has any of these for trades let me know, I have ML figures I'd consider trading.

I think it all depends on what type of missions you plan on sending Iron Man on.

If there's nothing fancy planned then any of the standard armors would be fine.

If there's something specific you have for him to do; like go to the arctic circle or take a deep dive, then you will need the right armor for the mission.
