yah it's a cool animal, but a Komodoo would kill it by a mear lick of its tongue, or even if he bit the komodoo he'd die from the amount of venom in his blood.

I'm pretty sure the komodo isn't poisionous at all. It's the bacteria found in its saliva that usually kills the prey.

Oh come on. Everyone's singing the badger's praises now just because it got a lucky bite in on that snake. If he keeps picking fights with creatures outside of his weight class like a lion and a monitor lizard, he won't be in this sport for very long. We all know that eventually, some younger and more skilled mammal who has had fewer fights and fewer career knockouts will come knock the honey badger on its furry little ass with a front kick that it learned from Steven Seagal. Where will the honey badgers fans be then? Where I ask you? Discarded like yesterdays prey. These poor animals need a union...

It's not scientists doing it, though. The standard practice at most zoos is that the two species are kept separate. But Ligers have been known to happen accidentally in captivity.

I call it jungle fever.

Actually, Ligers happening accidentally, while not unheard of, is exceptionally rare. More than 99% of all Ligers are bred on purpose. Partly because it's possible, but mostly because they make really great show animals, being much larger than a tiger. They also apparently are much safer to handle than tigers *or* lions.
They are apparently more predictable, and less aggressive. Just, in general safer to have around the public. Talk about odd.

What I meant was, it's not some petry dish, gene splicing or in vitro thing. They're actually bred "naturally". And I'm not sure I'd be comfortable referring to zookeepers as scientists (some might be, but not all).

Having a movie about your lifestyle starring Kevin James is no way to go through life.

This used to be true.

Until: Komodo Dragons Kill With Venom, Researchers Find

Also,

while they don't stand out as much as Ligers, there is such a thing as a Pizzly Bear/Grolar bear (Both names sound terribile): http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...rid-photo.html and http://www.wild-facts.com/tag/pizzly-bear/

Lmao, I can't get over all the posts about the honey badger. At this rate we're going to need the Official Honey Badger Appreciation Thread.

Or OHBAT for short lol.
