For some reason, it's never been reprinted.

At the end of the series, we see Thanos at the prison at the core of the galaxy called the Klyn alongside Starlord and Gladiator- a very strange three amigos those made- and you learn how each came to be locked up there.

They end up saving each other's butts when Annihilus' forces come invading though the black hole at the Klyn's core (as it leads to the Negative Zone).
Thanks for the heads up. I totally missed this series. I wonder if it's at least on Digital, otherwise I'm gonna have the LCS look into it.

My personal problem wasn't with how they ended it, it was with that they restarted it, lol.
Not every good thing needs, or should have a sequel.

Exactly why I shudder over the rumors of continuing the Watchmen series soon. I realize DC only retains property rights so long as prints remain in circulation and the property is being used...but this is one series that I think should be left alone.

Ew. Ew ew ew ew ew ew ew.

My heart just broke.

The *only* way that could possibly be even remotely good is if Alan Moore himself came back to write a golden age story.
And there's no way that fat bastard will do that. I'm sure he has a yakuza hit out on Dan DiDio for even considering it.

Totally agreed.

...wait, are we talking Onslaught or AoA?

Regardless, no sequels/prequels/fillers to Watchmen, thanks. Reprint the damn thing again if you want to maintain the rights, DC.

Onslaught was the lamest thing Marvel has ever done- lamer than the Clone saga or one More Day...only the steaming pile of excerment that was "Heroes Reborn" was worse than Onslaught.

A character so stupid and senseless that only the Xorn excuse for bringing back Magneto was worse, and that is a legendary cop out from Marvel Editorial.

I haven't read it but there is a book called X-men: Magneto Testament from 2008 that is said to detail his origins in more depth than flashbacks written by Greg Pak, which it was said he did some actual research to make it more authentic. hope that helps

I respectfully disagree. NOTHING that Marvel has ever done is more lame or a cop out than One More Day.

But I do agree that the ending to Onslaught was crap, but I liked the idea of Xavier and Magneto merged into one really pissed off being.

Certain Volumes of X-Force v3.
Dark Angel saga.
Academy X: Childhood's end.
Slingers
Spider-man: Identity Crisis (or whatever it was called.)
and then X-23: Target X Tops my list for now.
Alongside certain stories from the ongoing too that top my list.(Touching Darkness, misadventures in babysitting, issue 7... Though collision is convoluted with too much content and can confuse readers with how overtly subtle many aspects are, but that's why I favor X-23 stories. The subtext and nuances that are just layers ontop of layers ontop of layers with social commentary.)

Dark Reign would be on my worth a read list too, but it bleeds too much from other marvel like civil war, and secret invasion.(Secret invasion, civil war, and so far the current return of osborn is on my worst list. I get bored easily with stuff that's been done already that feels like marvel is trying to redo a storyline they've already done because it was well-received.)

TBH, so much of marvel bleeds together, the best gets buried to me under all the crap.

As for utter crap that there is no redeeming?
Clone Saga, One More Day, OMiT, Wolverine in Hell, and I'm starting to get burned out already on AvX and it hasn't even hit yet.

Onslaught and Heroes reborn I wouldn't call awful, but they don't rank high on my greats list either.

YES! But look at the price! That's becaise it's not been reprinted...no clue why, since it KICKS ASS!
There's a moment where Adam Warlock and Thanos relaise that they are the closest things they have to real friends- to someone that understands the other.
And as the cover shows, Thanos takes stock of his past life, past failures and what to do with himself if he's not trying to take over reality or destroy it.

This leads to his going looking for things of interest and adventure- in the universe's biggest prison with Starlord and Gladiator.
But not before kicking the ass of galactus' biggest dirty secret- his first herald.

Dude- get the trades and read the whole series in two or three big volumes- the plans, fuckovers and deception by all sides is so. damn. fun.
You'll want Secret Warriors figs bigtime too!

If you love Ares, this has some greatness in it from him too- and Gorgon! If you loved the excellent Wolverine: Enemy Of The State, you'll love Gorgon in this!

Plus, the best part- characters on all sides get developed into greatness...and horribly killed (on panel!) during battles- no one is safe.

Secret Warriors, followed by Captain America Vol 5,which got me back into comics since back when I was a kid (thanks Marvel digital subscription!)

Secret Warriors is really a must read, it's like the cold war with superhumans.
