Hey All!
BK here, first time posting to this forum! What I got here is something I've been wanting to do now for a while & finally started on yesterday, turning Marvel SHS WOLVERINE into a great brown suit 80's John Byrne version! I need a good Wolvie to round out my 3 3/4" 80's X-men! So, the figure itself isn't bad but it is WAY too tall to be Wolverine since he only stands at 5'3". I cut sections from the thighs & forearms and so far it's dropped the height to nearly where it should be. His hands are a bit too big as well so those are getting replaced by a nice set of multiple pose hands that I'm gonna mold & cast. Ea. set of hands will have a small open pocket on the back of the palm for a set of magnetically attachable "Popped & Retracted" claws, which are already made of metal. There will be three versions of his head, one normal, one beserker-angry & one unmasked smokin a stogie! The arms are a bit too long & I may have to adjust the Biceps if the new hands don't solve the problem. The chest just below the pecs is gonna get shortened height-wise & the "eight-pack" he currently has is gonna get made into a six pack. In case anyone was wondering, the blue stuff around his thighs & forearms is blue-tack which is there just temporarily to hold him all together! Still a lotta work to go gang, wish me luck! First, the unmodded figure next to MU Wolvie ![]() A digibash to show how much needs to be 86'd ![]() First mods compared to MU Wolvie ![]() A shot to show the new correct size with some of the gang! ![]() You want some o' this? ![]() GRRRRRrrrRRrrr!! ![]() Come an' get some BUB! ![]() How do I know your'e the REAL Wolverine?? ![]() As always, comments & crits very welcome & wanted! Cheers & thanks for looking guys! ~BK |

Thanks so much for the kind words! What are you planing to do on your Wolvie & is it an SHS figure as well? Maybe we could bounce some ideas off eachother to help make an even better figure! As for the claws, they're just made of some run-of-the-mill sewing needles that you can get from any dept. or fabric store. They were bent by using these: ![]() They're wire bending pliers that you can get, if you don't already have them, from any good online hobby supplier & they're fairly inexpensive and a great tool set that I'm sure you'll use again and again! If you do use them to bend needles for his claws, do so very slowly & gradually as the needles have a tendency to snap if the pressure exerted to bend them is too great ( Believe me, i went thru several before I got it right ![]() Cheers folks! ~BK |
