A lot of people try to come up with a goal to make their life better in some sort of way we call this A New Year's Resolution. A lot of us say we're going to lose 5-10 lbs, quit smoking, stop watching tv, read more, do hobbies more, spend time with family/friends more etc... some succeed some don't... I say aside from the personal aspect add our love of toys into it.. What is your New Year's Toy Resolution? is it to buy more/less toys... purchase more online vs retail, or save and wait for perfect lots on EBAY? whatever the case say what your willing to change, as we're not perfect by anymeans but that doesn't mean our toys can't be.

I personally plan on paying of x-mas debt and my new hometheatre, then focus on the MU,ML and MIcons figures I want to complete my series then start army building at some point... I like have figures in all 3 scales... and at heart I'm a completist plastic crack junky... so here's to 2011 and more toys then I know what to do with... Cheers

My resolution for 2011 is be more sensible - only get things which I've planned to buy in advance, and so given a decent amount of consideration to.

I think 2011 is going to be a good year - I'm hoping we get the last few characters I really want in Marvel Universe and Transformers, hopefully the new Thundercats toys will deliver, hopefully I'll finally get a Dragonzord, hopefully the 5" Nintendo figures will finally get released, and the 3.75" Streetfighter figures kick ass. I'm looking forward to Toyfair already!

I've given myself until the end of March to finish DC Infinite Heroes, Marvel Universe, GI Joe 25th, Iron Man 2, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Indiana Jones, Avatar, Spider-Man and Terminator Salvation. Then, I plan to stay current on Marvel Universe and Green Lantern, and start collecting vintage Star Wars and G.I. Joe again.

And after that, I'll either launch that action figure website I've been working on, or I'll stand on a huge pile of toys and laugh maniacally. I haven't decided which.

Oh, and my number one resolution for next year is to move my toys out of the house and into my office. It's getting crowded in here.

I think you should build a fort with all the boxes you'll have, fill it with all the toys, and then laugh maniacally!!!

Cheers! I've finished playing catch-up with all the g1 transformers I wanted (and indeed all of the already released toys I wanted), so now my plan is to identify what I want from Toyfair/SDCC/Botcon, then pre-order on BBTS when it comes up so I'll know exactly what I'm going to be spending of a month in advance. No more ebaying!

I kinda wanna get back to basics...

There was this huge lull in MU in August-October for MU and I got bored....so I started working on a Transformers collection as well as my GI Joe and DCIH collection. Needless to say some of my MU suffered and I was greatly displeased.....

Full and up to date collection of MU and it's sister lines (IM2 Cap Thor)
Full Collection of DCIH (2nd priority)
Selected GI Joes (3rd)
Selected TFs

COME ON TAX REBATE!!!!

Work on my SW collection, pick up only the MU characters I like, and get at least 4 toys a month.

First priority, DCU: Green Lantern Classics, a completist mentality. Well... at least completist as to where I want a figure of every character, while avoiding aquiring three dozen Hal Jordans.

Second priority: DCU Classics, collecting all of my favorite characters, and/or favorite teams.

Third priority: Transformers. Any and all G2, Beast Era, and Gobot homages that get released. Every Animated that gets released, and any G1 homages I like (The Skullgrin homage, I love. The Strafe homage doesn't really do anything for me. A terribly unsuiting mold for it).

I sadly have to be extremely selective if at all. Looks like it's just going to be anything under $20 every other month now that there's a little one on the way. I had to cancel my preorder for masterpiece Rodimus which is a big deal for me since I have all the masterpiece line. They'll never stop making them so I have to stop somewhere. I was however able to get the fansproject protector armor before the my wife said no! Ha!

Only get the ones that jump out at me, not feel obligated to get something from MU. Also figure out Wal*Mart's price matching procedures and use that better.

Emphasize preference on buying collectors toys in lieu of mass market stuff aimed at kids. The latter adds up over time, the former is more expensive per item, but ironically, cheaper in the long run, plus I tend to enjoy those toys more.

Also plan on finding better ways to organize them. Dwelve more into customizing as it gets my creative juices flowing.

Fill in the gaps I want in DCUC, Marvel Legends and MOTUC. Decide whether or not to keep collecting Marvel Universe since I like the 6inch scale a lot more. And sell off the boxes of stuff I'm no longer interested in.

Keep some Marvel Universe, I was shocked at how much better World War Hulk from Universe is compared to the Marvel Legends version(have both). Very rarely do I ever say a Marvel Universe figure is better than its Marvel Legends counterpart.

I plan on selling stuff I don't care for too. Goodbye under-articulated mid 90's Star Wars!

So here we are, 4 months later, 1/3rd of the year almost gone. How are we all doing on our resolutions?

Anyone set any new resolutions or goals for the year as far as toys, collecting, and the fandom is concerned?

Haven't sold anything yet, but as far as my intent to focus mostly on collectors' items...yeah...I ended up warming up a LOT to the Dark Of The Moon line and can't wait to see it at retail. I feel almost dirty even admitting that.

Haven't been buying Marvel Universe stuff anywhere near as much as I used to.

Ended up craving the old Toy Biz 90's X Men stuff...random but WTF? Cool though.

Yeah I wasn't going to get too into DOTM, but now I'm geeking out about it something fierce. It does feel dirty, but a good dirty, like the DiC Joe series

I know about random as well my friend. I have just randomly had desires to get back into urban vinyl and Lego like crazy. Don't know where it hit me from but I like it!

I guess I never posted my 2011 Toy Related Resolutions/Goals...maybe I will type something up and report back in a bit.

Random toy cravings are win! I have a few lego sets, got into Hero Factory and Bionicle last year thanks to my nephews.

DOTM, once Human Alliance, which I'm a huge fan of to begin with, was integrated with Mech Tech...I was done for. Hell I even want that voyager Optimus that got a lot of flack...and though I feel I lose a piece of my soul each time I admit this...I kinda like Ultimate Optimus...

I missed the 1/3 year update, but as we're pretty much at the halfway point of the year this seems like a good time to reflect on we're doing on our resolutions (or to come up with a half year resolution!).

I have managed to be more sensible! I've resorted to eBay a couple of times, but I've spent half as much this year as I did in the equivalent time period last year.

Between the Generations releases at the start of the year and the various third party offerings due for release, there are not many Transformers left that I'd like modern versions of, Trailbreaker and Blitzwing anyone?

With Doctor Strange and Invisible Woman, a few MU teams are nearing completion now. Just really want/need a couple more classic 90's X-men.....

I still haven't got a Dragonzord, and I've downgraded my Nintendo figures (to the 2"-4" ones) so they're more in scale with Streetfighter/Mortal Kombat. (I'm planning a '16-bit' display with my SNES and Mega Drive!)

My aim for the rest of the year is to not get too taken in with the new third party Transformers, and to finally finish my Metroplex repair/custom. Oh and get a Dragonzord.

Good on the first half, not so much on the second. Started collecting two other toy lines this year: Thundercats and Power Rangers Samurai. But I'm trying to limit them both to very specific "team" sets, along with the Thundertank and the Zords from PRS.

Maybe this year, I can avoid starting any other collections. I guess we'll see in about 363 days.
