Seriously? The answer is of course Hasbro.

I like that Hasbro often re-releases figures either as repaints or straight up re-releases or figure upgrades.
Yes, I've noticed that about Hasbro they do that for GI Joe Classified as well. Sometimes it can improve upon the original like the field variants of Duke, Scarlett, and Roadblock are better than the original figure.

That said after winter soldier and the modern hasbro legends flowed Hasbro is the solid winner. The men and women look like they belong in the line. Its truly great for me to see how deep they gone but man that start was ugly.
The post-Winter Soldier stuff is really good. Love the Marvel Legends retro figures, no tedious BAF pieces included just a figure and accessories. I will say I'm beginning to think some of the early Hasbro figures were repaints of Toybiz figures. An example that sticks out to me is the Spider-Man Origins Demogoblin is a repaint of one of the Marvel Legends Hobgoblins from the Toybiz era.

Now, I did get annoyed at times when Toy Biz had done a character and people were saying it had never been done before, like it didn't exist. In cases like those, yes, they stand out badly from the Hasbro figures, but to just act as if they didn't exist at all was a bit irksome.
I think part of this is that Toybiz was owned by Avi Arad and Chairman at Marvel Entertainment and the eventual CEO of Marvel Studios before his departure in 2021. So given that, Arad probably wanted figures of some of the most obscure characters Marvel had to offer in order to sell the Marvel brand and promote lesser-known Marvel characters. That's also why their name was changed to Marvel Toys shortly before going out of business.

But over all the quality was bad, we just didn't know better because there was nothing to compare it to, and even with that there were a handful we knew were crap but it was either that or not have the character at all (TB Lady Deathstrike I'm looking squarely at you on this one)
Yeah, some Toybiz figures were alright. The Punisher figure with the run-down alleyway stand and came with the first issue of the Punisher War Zone comic was good. Some of their Iron Man figures are good. Like this one. Even then paired with a Hasbro figure, the Toybiz one looks lesser.

I will say this is amusing.

Yeah, even the early Hasbro Legends Iron Man looks better by comparison. Maybe, Iron Man is flipping Avi Arad and Marvel Toys/Toybiz off for giving him a lesser figure than Hasbro in the last picture.

Super incorrect - he departed/resigned from Marvel Studios in 2006.

So wait what was that weird message at the end of NWH about, did he depart from Marvel Entertainment in 2021?

It was to thank him for all that he did to help get that original trilogy of Spider-Man movies kicked off in the first place.

I still prefer a few of the older Toybiz Marvel Legends figures where there were a few good ones that didn't consist of the same Spider-Man figure over and over again like Marvel Legends.

Toybiz Marvel Legends still has a good looking Raimi Spider-Man movie Mary figure from Spider Man 2 or 3.

sure some figures might have odd articulation like hinged fingers and hinged toes just depends on what figure looks and poses great with hinged toes. I still love the Toybiz Marvel Legends Affleck Daredevil and the Siler Surfer figure that came with Howard the Duck.

I had to check out cooltoyreview's photo gallery archive to refresh my memory of what figures came out years ago. the only awful looking ones were White Queen.

Depends on what you want out of your figures and what era you're talking about.

Toybiz went for more realistic sculpts which could look awkward depending on the original design Hasbro is usually more design accurate.

If you want usable stress-free articulation Toybiz was king until around 2015 when Hasbro finally dumped those godawful hip joints you had to twist.

Value wise Toybiz wins no question, you got a comic book, accessories and a display base all for around 15$.

That said we're comparing toylines that are nearly two decades apart.

Hasbro. That said, Toybiz accessories and display bases were a thousand times better.
