Once he tore it open, I had a chance to get my hands on them; these are the first MU figures I've ever touched, outside of all the IM releases. Frankly, I was pretty disappointed - from paint apps, to weird articulation issues, to the fact I couldn't get several of them to stand without considerable effort. I'm hoping I just got a bum set that was painted/assembled poorly, but my ongoing temptation to dig a little deeper into MU has been quashed for the time being.
Yeah those particular molds might not be the best intro to MU. Thinking about what is currently hanging on the pegs, I'd recommend Steve Rogers (take your son's clear CapA shield ), SubMariner, or Modular Armor Iron Man. Those are really nice figures from articulation to paint apps,, generally speaking.

The epping NH store had 6+ on Friday. Dont b fooled if they are not in the toy section. They moved them to the clearance section on the 26th, so you have to find that and weed through it

I as well haven't seen these in my area, but they have been spotted in the state, just not worth a 2 hour drive to get.

Wal Mart on Hallendale Beach Blvd had them at full price before the holidays but nothing now...and of course, there's no such thing as a clearance down here.

One of my Walmarts finally stocked the Star Wars gift pack. Still no sign of the MU pack.

That Hallendale WM used to be a nice little secret one to shop at when the toys were in the back. Now that they are in the front east side I don't find them quite as good. Better than a lot of WM's around here though.

I overheard managers at my local WM talking about how the toy dept had been downsized a bit and that there may be more downsizing to come.

That's interesting because doesn't Walmart get "Exclusive Figures" only sold out of their store. If they downsize that means they won't get as much Exclusive figures any more....

The two WMs I've been to since Christmas didn't have any MU gift sets. They did have the Thor 6" stuff half off. They also had the 3-packs labeled with clearance stickers but at the regular price. Once again, I found myself saying "That's not a clearance price!" to no one in particular.

IDK, K-Mart somehow manages to pull it off.

Did you scan them? My Walmart never put any signage on the Star Wars figures but they do scan at half off.

Man- I hit the wal mart on Hallendale Bch Blvd again today and noticed that not only did they not restock anything, they brought the Pirates figures back into the main toy asile to fill holes and raised their prices back up to $8.70 a piece!
These are the same figs that Target cant give away for $4!
