And still wildly off-topic. Not that's there's really much of a topic to follow in a "Hasblow" thread.

Regardless, everyone needs to chill and let the matter drop.

It's very true that Hasbro could kill the market for things like Solid Vision by just sicking them in revision cases. They are too afraid of pissing off all those who paid the high price at some point (although we did get Warpath).

I'm so glad Market value is lost on me. I see expensive ass toys and without a care just move on. I can't justify spending even just alittle over retail for stuff I don't need.

I don't see why they would care if they pissed off anyone who bought their products at aftermarket prices. As far as Hasbro is concerned, they already got their money from the primary market. If anything, they would probably use the secondary market to get ideas for additional revenue (like re-issuing certain toys, if they feel the market for them is still there).

For example, Takara recently re-released G1 Fortress Maximus at $330 USD. Considering a complete vintage one was/is going for around $1000 USD (on average), it's a hell of a deal. I'm sure if Fort Max could pass today's US toy safety standards (i.e. drop tests), Hasbro would probably jump at the chance as well (assuming they could find a retailer willing to carry it).

But the problem with bringing Vision back is the mold he used, not the feelings of collectors or scalpers. Of course, we've already discussed that tidbit ad nauseum in other threads on this site.

I don't think they should care about it all but they have come out and said it before that they think it's good for the line to have figures like that with high prices on the secondary market. It's one of main answers they give when asked if they will reissue a certain figure. I'd think they would want to produce a figure they know will sell but their statements indicate that isn't the only factor for them.

It's probably due to the toy development cycle (roughly 1.5 - 2 years). By the time they find out how well a particular toy does at retail, they're already well underway on the next product.

So, seeing as it's only opening day of IM3, I will keep this as intentionally vague as possible to avoid spoilers (can we do spoiler tags on these boards?). But I'm warning you now, don't read below this if you don't even want hints as to what's in the film.

*********************SPOILERS********************* ********

Having seen the movie last night, not only has Hasbro apparently dropped the ball on all the awesome 3.75" armor figures we could have had, but they missed out big time with some action features on other characters in the movie. I want some of those soldiers really badly now, and they could have made them look pretty awesome with a light-up feature and some clear plastic. If they were as comprehensive in coverage and quality for this film as they were for Iron Man 2, it probably would have been the best line of the trilogy, I think. Instead, we get 5 POA Assemblers, and it's doubtful we'll be getting any villains. Blegh...

At the end of the day, like every line, retailers re-orderly overly so for wave 1 and that doesn't shift so wave 2 and 3 only hit clearance stores. Hasbro are hedging their bets here, they can't be blamed, imo.

and assemblers & other current hasbro 3.75" are moving at descent pace, referring to the TRUs/Targets near my area, one of them is Manhattan's Time Square of NY.

Scalpers? Why don't you get mad at the people who over pay in the first place....without them and without them over paying there would be no scalpers....FYI I don't scalp toys. I think throwing this blame on them is just not needed.....again blame people here and on other boards throwing way too much cash to these scalpers......

The "scalpers" are people on this board and elsewhere. An item is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. I won't dislike anyone for spotting a money making opportunity.

it has opened my eyes to people i would rather not deal with.and thats the beauty of it,some get satisfaction helping others, some get satisfaction from making a healthy profit off others, ill get satisfaction telling the latter to f*** off when the next "opportunity" falls on my lap.and believe me,it will.
