Personally, I'd thought that after X2, when X-Men was at the height of it's popularity, they could have made a fairly successful television series on Fox.
Focused on a group of students, and bring in some unused (Or at least would have been then) x-men as teachers and the primary team. Emma Frost, Sage, Bishop, Beast, ect.

Personal tastes for the students would have been sort of a mix of all the "traditional" student groups. Cannonball, Moonstar, Marrow, Blink, Prodegy, Skin, and Dust... seem like a pretty good mix.

They did that already, It was called Generation X. It didn't last long, but I liked it. Probably would have done a lot better if it came after the X-men Movies and not before.

Generation X was a made for TV movie in the late ninties.
Fox Movie Channel recently re-aired it, at like 3 am. It's held up pretty well, surprisingly..
But yeah, there's been no TV series, Gen X, or otherwise. So I disagree with the "They did it already." :P

i enjoyed all the xmen movies...first class being the best. i dont get why they feel they have to change the storylines. the stories are already written for them just follow the original script which was written in the comic books. we all know the characters were all screwed up with the singer directed movies and origins as well as also first class but i think that they can still make it right with a sequel to first class. they can pick it up from here and introduce the original five now and somewhat follow comic book continuity. hopefully theyll get it on track now.....and if not, well theres always another reboot to start fresh with,
