Haven't brought it home yet, so it's technically not mine (yet) but I found this and placed it under TRU's lay-a-way program tonight!

I would have snagged more pictures, but one of the employees there tonight had an issue with it, so I apologize if the photos aren't of better quality. It retails for $89.99 for those of you wondering (hence my placing it on lay-a-way...lol...)

On a first impression sidenote...the paint apps on decent for the most part, but on Angel, they are terrible. He suffers from a really bad lazy eye, which was prevalent on all of the sets that were there tonight, so if you have the opportunity to check them out before you buy, do so. Otherwise you'll have an Warren Worthington who looks like he just ran into a power line...

While I wasn't able to get a pic of Jean, she's pretty well painted, although they added a white line between her lips to give them the appearance of being pursed, so that might be something else you'll want to check out if you can.

All and all...I'm pretty excited bout this one, and I have been waiting for one since I lost my old Toy Biz set. I can't wait to get it paid off! Happy hunting!

Hopefully these things sell so more boxsets are made, but with the many issues this set has I just don't see it being a big seller.

Really?? Sales must not be that great so far.

And yes, I'd like to see more box sets as well, I hope this goes well enough to make others like the Inhumans and Alpha Flight

Seeing the pics of the set up close in box... I'm glad I decided to make my own. These look a little half-assed on Hasbro's part, but definitely an easier pill for collectors to swallow at $89.99 as opposed to the $140 it sold for on their site for a split second. If anything, it does seem like it'd be a handy all-in-one fodder kit; might snag one for parts if they end up going on clearance like the MU X-Factor set did bitd.
Oh, and if anyone doesn't want their box, let me know! I'd love to put my customs in one of these boxes and take pics. =)

I will not be buying this set. I just purchased the entire Marvel Legends Infinite Cap set, which I am very happy with. In addition, I have chased down and purchased many of the Marvel Legends Infinite Amazing Spiderman 2 figures. However, this set is a non-starter for me for a couple of reasons.

I am not really a fan of the original X-men team "look" and I am really annoyed that time, effort, and production costs were wasted on this "surprise" offering while the Marvel Legends wave 6 Jubilee line is left languishing in limbo. I have no concrete stats, but the fan response to last year's news regarding the Jubilee wave was very positive. I personally planed to buy the whole set, looking forward mostly to Tigershark, Radioactive Man, Songbird, and Jubilee herself. Not being overly impressed by the sculpts for this X-men set or the recently revealed Guardians of The Galaxy line, I find it hard to understand why Hasbro would ignore a line that seemed to genuinely excite fans and replace it with these sub-par almost sloppy products.

I feel like I need to hold off on this X-set and the Guardians just to send a message to Hasbro that they should (at least) follow through on the Jubilee line which was eagerly anticipated by many fans. If I don't protest with my wallet and actually support these surprise sets, effectively rewarding their poor follow through/decision making as it pertains to the Jubilee wave, then I don't have anyone to blame other than myself for not getting the things that I want.....which in this case are the Jubilee line figures. Not to mention the numerous variants like Bulldozer, Sentry, Dani Moonstar, and many more..

Funny thing is I know exactly which TRUs in my area I can walk into and pick that set up at any time... it's warming shelves to this day even.

Given the price, I agree.

BTW have these been spotted in the East Coast yet or mainly West Coast? Arizona for some reason tends to get things first.
