Does he really have no mouth? I was wondering about that. If that's the case, we can all kiss our hopes about Deadpool goodbye. Deadpool is nothing without his mouth.

From what I can tell, he just has a lot of scarring around his mouth. With Shin's pic above, I can still make out a horizontal slit that would indicate lips. So there's still hope that he'll remain the merc-with-a-mouth.

Although the brainwashing thing may temporarily do away with that aspect of his personality. I mean, he looks more pissed off in that pic than just crazy.

Still there?

In the movie, Wade Wilson is turned into Deadpool (see above pic). That is what the film makers consider to be Deadpool. Sorry guys, no red costume.

Wow. Just because you're not going to enjoy the movie doesn't mean you should try to ruin it for everybody else too.

I must agree with my esteemed colleague ZEO on this one.

If I filled an ice cream cone with dog crap, but told you it was super awesome chocolate explosion flavored ice cream, would you not want ZEO to tell you, "Hey don't eat that ice cream, it's actually dog crap!"

And it's not a spoiler, everybody has known for months that they ruined deadpool, since pictures and the eventual release of the movie figure came out.

They screwed us again.

Doesn't mean I won't still go see it, I'll just buy a ticket for another movie and sneak in. That way those bastards won't get more of my money.

Also, Saint Phe, it's not ZEO who ruined the movie for everyone else. It's Gavin Hood and the people at Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation.

I don't know the man personally, but I'm fairly sure ZEO wouldn't have ruined the movie the way they did if he was directing and releasing it.

You very well could've skipped over the post. Ludo made his post ridiculously long just for people who didn't want spoilers. But it's barely a spoiler. The back of the package for Deadpool itself said specifically what would happen.

Besides, it's not Deadpool in this movie that we want to be the REAL Deadpool. It's when he magically returns from hell for a solo movie. Mephisto takes him at the end of the movie to another dimension. OOPS RUINED IT!

The deadpool movie we will get two summers from now will be the good one, and Marvel will just "reboot" his story. They won't even bring in Mephisto, they will just use a bit of finger nail to clone him and start over from the beginning. This time with a lower suck factor due to low ticket sales and angry angry angry nerds like myself.

I was making a joke about the Mephisto thing. And I was already assuming the Funeral For a Freak scenario was going to happen.

The sad thing is no matter what crazy idea they come up with, the one they go with for the final movie will be sadder and crazier than anything we can joke about here.

From what I've seen, Wade Wilson is VERY awesome in the Wolverine movie though. The previews make him funny. I just don't get the sewn up mouth angle. But after seeing Watchmen which I hated, I'm willing to be very forgiving of Wolverine.

If only they knew anything about the character. I mean it's like Bizarro Deadpool, the Merc with No Mouth! He will not taunt you while not going crazy!

I liked this aspect of the movie. The ending even left it open for him to be de-powered and still get a spin off movie of his own later. We have the missing years (he gets cancer, returns to weapon X, volunteers for the healing factor, escapes after it, and sabertooth has to catch him for the wolvie ending), or we have him regenerating himself after the origins movie which forces him to lose all his powers from the massive trauma, except for his healing factor. This second option also removes his arm swords.

To be frank for the few minutes he's like this in the movie, it fits and still leaves the door open for other things. It actually makes mild sense to do this to deadpool, Stryker said it himself as to why in the movie. He just would never shut up.

Considering all the new ending tidbits and extra footage being added in still, no one truly knows what else could still happen or be in there. Why are we jumping the shark so bad on this?

I'll probably see the movie twice in theaters, it's worth it. And buy the director's cut even! Well, if they make one at least. I've learned my lesson on buying new release movies on DVD right when released, they tend to do 2-5 additional releases later that are the 'ultimate fan collector versions blah blah blah'.

He's gonna pop up in spider-man 4, just to say hi and nice costume, then kiss Aunt May on the mouth and leave.

Well and even the leaked version could still very easily be written around for a GOOD deadpool movie. It's like Venom in spidey 3. Yes he sucked in it, but it was mostly to not overuse him as to ruin the oomph his movie will have. Ditto to surfer in the fantastic 4 movie. Why ruin galactus then, when you can save him for later with more oomph? Deadpool especially could outright steal the show, so why would you have a character that so upstages the title role? That and the toy design is mildly off anyway. It's OVER-detailed in comparison to the one we see in the recent trailers.

The same could be said for venom, with dancing emo parker, Brock could have quite easily stolen the show if they wrote him better. The fan hate is just over reactions to something that seems to be part of a larger picture on all fronts. Let them finish out the complete story before we truly bemoan it. All we're getting is what amounts to pieces of the story for what could be a much grander and larger vision that one budget could not contain.

If the trailer is any indication... Deadpool's stitches are gone. He healed over them. And his body isn't as scarred. So yeah, sequels and spinoffs are needed to truly fill in these gaps or do these possibilities before I grab my torches and start screaming foul. Deadpool is fine, if anything this version fits to his true origins of living in the 'dead pool' from his comic roots, just changed up a bunch so the wolvie ending has some kickass ending fights, and with his abilities, as I stated MANY MANY MANY times, much room is still open for other things to happen.

There was no need for DP's suit in this film as yet. Now sequels and spinoffs are another matter. So this movie has bought them some time to figure out how best to approach a live action deadpool with still leaving room open for him to be as he is in Origins, or even to have him become our one true faithful deadpool after the fact. Including reason as to why he's now completely bonkers, and wanting to be the one who takes wolverine down.

Heck I know I might go a lil bonkers if I was isolated on an island with nothing but my thoughts to keep me entertained. It could even explain why he'll never again shutup since he couldn't even hear his own voice while stuck.
======Spoiler================

How many years do you think it would take for him to go nuts and a body to regrow so he could cut open his mouth? Heck, we'd all probably lose our head in that amount of time to grow arms to do anything. That would wipe out all his new powers, and take away his sword arms. So yeah, I look extremely forward to his spinoff and what direction they take. At least they didn't pull a phoenix with him, and have him atomized on screen. And as I said, that's not even counting why he let them do this to him. Which could make the spinoff intertwine with Origins.

You know, even with all the images and teaser trailers and rumors abound, I was still holding on to a little bit of hope that Deadpool would show up as we all want to see him. I couldn't let go of the thought that maybe the film makers had some kind of plan to get us all worked up and then surprise us with a faithful interpretation of Deadpool on the silver screen.

I'm sure that I'm not the only one who felt this way. I guess it's something that we are going to have to get used to. Twentieth Century Fox just does not understand the characters. I just don't comprehend that if they think it is a good enough idea to make a movie out of something why do they go and change the source material so that it doesn't resemble what was good about it in the first place?

scarecrow, the SPOILER RAGE was in reference to a post that has been removed from this thread, and was not due to ludovicotek's post. Posting spoilers in the manner he did was totally acceptable - not blurting it out in the manner for which the other one was removed.

Yes, and I'm just saying for the minor role he plays, all it's set to do is tease us at the potential without upstaging the title role. Give them some time for his own movie before we say they 'screwed up'. Cause honestly, for the little bit he's in, he's pretty damn accurate. They haven't messed anything up yet. Now when his spin off movie comes and then they butcher it the rest of the way, okay I'll agree. But for now, the over reactions are just silly. This isn't a deadpool movie, he's just a bit role to fill out the cast while still leaving plenty of room for him to do as he pleases later on. Including getting a real costume. The movie itself, would have made no sense for him to have his costume as yet. We see his pre cancer form, and what could be his after cancer form, but no reason for his "I'm crazy and need a spidey like suit" form yet. The movie is fine. It's just a tease for later.

I agree with you in the fact that Deadpool is not the center of the movie, nor should he be. While he was still just Wade Wilson it was all good. But after he became "Deadpool" it all went downhill.

How can you say that they haven't messed anything up yet? They have Deadpool shooting beams out of his eyes. His mouth is sewn shut. He's got adamantium blades that come out of his hands. Yeah, now that I think about it, THEY NAILED HIM!!!!

Seriously, though. Ryan Reynolds played the part well enough and I totally agree with you that parts were indeed pretty close. It's just all the added crap they tried to put into the Deadpool character that got me. It's like I said before, I just don't see why they feel they need to "improve". And since he is not the the main attraction here there should not have been such an attempt to have him be this complete bad-ass with every single power.

And please tell me how it makes sense to not have him in his costume yet, but it does make sense to give him all of those unnecessary abilities?

Did you even read all of my postes? I explained quite easily how they can still put him back to the same deadpool he should be for his own movie. Whether inbetween Origins events, or even after. So what if for one scene in the movie he's not the deadpool we know and love nor has his costume yet.

For the bit role we see him like this with the additional mutant powers, it only serves as a final project X boss for wolverine. They did tie it nicely into the story while still having wide birth for many other things to correct the powers issues. Including his final fate in the movie. And they aren't 'laser beams' they are optic concussive blasts. In his own mini while he did escape prior to these types of events, it was the projects intent to create a super warrior out of the 'deadpool' of inmates from which he draws his name.

Ryan Reynolds did fine yes, and while the final origins DP does move in a different direction than typical Deadpool, it doesn't mean he won't be later while still staying in story. It just means he'll have a slightly (IMHO) better reason for being bats**t insane. Ya know, stuck with his own thoughts till a body regrows and all that. Not even being able to speak, etc. And with no body, means no implanted arm blades too. Gives him even more reason to want to have the glory of taking wolverine down when hired as a merc, and even more reason to never let anyone keep his mouth shut again, and to keep escaping from weapon X. If anything, Fox has set us up for an even darker more cohesive insane deadpool if the writers actually tap the ideas to use that have been presented as potential here in this movie. That in conjunction with the fact he's not scarred as much as the toy, the additional ending tidbits added on, and more all point towards they could easily tap many directions still for his potential. Just because he has those powers now, doesn't mean his body will keep them intact if overtaxed, especially since all we need him to keep is the healing power.

Plus, you have to admit, him rambling on about times as a mute head, or years of silence etc, is very deadpool. Just look at the recent messiah war conflict in x-force where he was stuck in a collapsed building till the future.

So yeah, they may have messed him up for a whopping 5 minutes or so in an ending battle, but does that mean he MUST stay that way? Let alone the fact we haven't seen how he was recaught, or why he let them subject him to this? He's not even scarred in the movie cept for the fact his mouth has grown over what the toy suggests is stitches. They nailed him enough for it to be quite explored well to still be our deadpool we know and love later, and even before his weapon XI implementation. Though I fear they may make him keep the teleporting for his personal teleporter instead of technology-wise, but so long as they limit it because of various regeneration reasons, or even failing power use because of his trauma, it could still work (He closes his eyes and tries, opens them "Umm dorothy, why are we still in kansas?" Keeps trying and trying). The arm blades aren't native to his body, so they won't be coming back after this film more than likely. Though him salvaging them for new adamantium swords could work to add to his crazy stories that seem to surreal to have happened. "Hey Logan, remember when I could shoot laser beams out of my eyes? Good times, good times." Among many more tounge in cheek usages for his banter.

The costume can come in during his Pre-capture days after team X, or can come in from him hiding what has been done to him after the fact, from ya know, growing a new body and all that. The point is, it's ripe for untapped potential. Worry later once his spin-off comes, or his cameo in wolverine 2.
Until then, this movie is just a tease and psyche out.
Now if his own Movie rolls out, and they still overpower him like this while having his mouth gone while free, I will start questioning whether or not they truly understand the character's richness they have been given. Until then, the final battle doesn't mean anything towards his potential cept more reason for him to be insane, and scarred up. For the little bit given, they have a vast array of potential to still tap to fill it in for 'comic accuracy'. From cancer to his final selection as Stryker's puppet, to the aftermath of his Origins fate. DP in the final scenes, mostly wasn't even in control of himself. Of which we also don't know why as of yet. How many escape attempts did it take for Stryker to revoke his free will, and install cameras in his eyes?

To Bob once he gets stuck with him after Hydra or Aim, or Whoever does the clean up of the facility he was stuck at. Manages to con his way back to Bob's apartment and takes over, in DP fashion.
"Ever played Pong with your eyes to kill time? Yeah it's about as fun as it sounds. Atari still gives me the creeps when I'm near it. That sound just makes me want to kill people." Sees an atari 2600, starts stabbing wildly with his new handle swords. "Die, die die die die." Destroys the bigscreen tv too it was sitting on that bob spent three paychecks to buy. And that's just assuming he's healed and discovered by the 80s sometime.

So yeah, easily back to the deadpool we know and love. And that's assuming he wasn't just a straight up clone of Wade, and not even the real thing. In which case again, a costume would make no sense.
