I'm glad they aren't releasing any new characters and just a couple re-dos because as a limited release it will be hard to find and expensive because...

Is 40,000 that limited of a run? I dont know what the normal run of a comic pack is but it seems like decent number for repacks/repaints.

I don't think the number has been previously released. So the only way we know it's limited is by them specifically saying it...

Generally, manufacturers do not release numbers for the production runs of regular mass-retail products. Even store exclusive toys don't have a specific run limit (Hasbro, et. al., will usually make as many of a store exclusive as the store is willing to buy).

This would be the first time they've done a specifically "limited run" of any MU product that wasn't a Con exclusive. I will interested in getting more details, such as where and when these will be sold. I'd almost suspect it to be a Con exclusive (if not SDCC, then some other one).

They only said that about the X-Factor Gift Set:

The set will be limited to 20,000 pieces worldwide. for those speculating about the Cyclops figure, it will be based on the same body as the Guardian figure with the head and hands seen on the classic Cyclops figure.

The new SPider-Man Legends villain pack from TRU has a number attached to it now. Maybe they're tired of making tons of them and then having the rest pegwarm after the collectors get theirs.

Sounds like we're neighbors, Ms. Mars. Slim pickins up here in Northern California.

I suspect the "limited run" wording was used to drum up interest. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

Toys R Us stores in the U.S.= 875. Worldwide is 1500. Divide 40,000 units by 1500 locations gives you almost 27 units per store.

Target gives you almost 23 per location with 1,767 locations.

Wal Mart is the least with about 4.5 units across almost 9000 locations.

But they probably wont be Wal Mart exclusives. They will be Toys R Us exclusives and quite plentiful.

And I'd say the "First Class" comic packs had the same numbers. I think there's about 27 of those at my Toys R Us right now. Better go scoop em up!!! There's Only 40,000!!! On the whole Earth!!!

Mass production typically means more than 10,000. The difference with these items is that once they hit the specified limits, that's it, no re-ordering will be allowed, whereas something like Prime Bumblebee, which is mass market, can be reordered for as long as Hasbro decides to produce it, there's no cut off until the line dies or Hasbro decides not to produce any more Bumblebees(which is a snowball's chance in hell for the next year or so).

My point was we don't know what a normal run for comic packs are (exclusive or not), so there's no real way to tell how truly "limited" this particular run is aside from educated guesses.

It depends on your perspective, really. It's using the AIM body, as opposed to the DD body he had for the comic pack or UM body of his single pack release.

So yes, technically it could be called a redeco of the AIM figure. But a better way to describe it would be a kitbash (as CTR did), since it uses parts from other figures as well.

Once pictures surface, we'll have a much better idea of what we're looking at.

The 'Ultimate' Magneto used the AIM body too...

For some reason, I kept thinking it was a new mold for UM. Still, it's only using part of the AIM mold as a base for the new comic pack, so there will (hopefully) be a better visual contrast.

By the way, that pic is hilarious. It's like Erik got a second job to supplement his income, but was too proud to give up the cape and helmet.
