Damn, they must really like giving retailers things that will make them want to cancel the line due to pegwarming.

I have most of the figures already, but I still buy most of the repaints. Why? For the same reason I bought POC w3 Snake Eyes and Vintage Jedi Luke. They're made better or in this case, painted better, than the ones that came out the year before.

I don't hate repaints or better versions of figs I already have. I just hate Hasbro can't get it right the very first time!

Gott agree on this.
I got the Wolve/Sabertooth two pack last night (rather y roomie picked it up for me) and Sabertooth is pretty damn awesome.
Very suprised on how good he is.
Wolverine looks great too with one exception- the paint app on his claws kinda missed most of the silver on one hand but I swapped it for the XMO version.
Skipped the Cyclops/Jean two pack.

Personally, I went by TRS yesterday and they had their usual selection of scalped lines plus TWO Green Lantern build a figs with their BAF piece stolenn and re-taped for resale.
Not as bad as a Cantina Swap but pretty bad.

I did score yet another Terminator endoskeleton 3.75" on clearance for $2
-Stick your extra Hammerdrone head on there for kinda a commando drone.

Saw about 4 of each 2-pack at the Frederick MD ToysrUs. Picked up 1 of each.

True enough. They always have to have the line approachable for new collectors and kids who don't have the popular guys. Hence why we always see so freaking many Iron Mans, Spidermans and Wolverines.

That doesn't explain why so many shelfwarm, then.

I think even the kids dont really care about Iron Man and Wolverine anymore.. they are probably sick of them just like we are.

As a new collector to this line myself, believe me when I say I had no difficulty finding any of the three figures you mentioned because so many of the older ones are shelfwarming. In fact, I even got my Iron Man on clearance.

Everyone seems so excited about this Sabretooth, but am I correct that it is the exact same one from the XMO line pack, just repainted?

If so, I have no desire to pick up another one, but if there are some amazing differences otherwise, I should apparently rethink grabbing one as I've seen about 10 now. :x

You are correct and can skip it.

I was excited about this set (still am) because I didn't have any version of Sabretooth in my MU collection. If I had one from the XMO line I probably would've skipped this set, but I don't.. so I'm glad they made this.

The sabertooth head on the comic pack is different from the one that came in the back yard brawl pack but is the same as the deluxe set with Blob.

Ok good! I have the Blob set, so I thought this was pretty identical to the one I had, but had seen no side by side comparisons, so thanks!

Bingo, great point. Another one? I can readily find an abundance of Iron Man 2 figures with EXPIRED coupons included, that advertise saving $1 or so off. Those things couldn't even move on clearance. Now, are they great figures? Yes. Were they overordered and did retailers overestimate demand for numerous Mark IV/VI repaints? HELL YES. Iron Man is a popular character but when you have an entire line devoted to Tony Stark with BARELY anyone else, you're going to see shelf warm.

From the deluxe pack with Blob yeah.

Right with you. I also like this repaint on Wolverine- the colors are much more true to his 80's comics appearances, and, as mentioned, this is THE Wolverine figure to own as he's actually in-scale!
Logan's a "runt" at 5.3"!

I see! Hmm... That's how you can tell these Comic pack's were rushed.[/QUOTE]

I don't even think that cause they made that one before so why is it so hard to make another one with the exact sculpt?

My peeve is that the joints on the legs are unfit for my hards due to how stiff they are & how tiny they are & i have HUGE hands, I don't mind the size much but the face sculpt also kills it for me because his eyes are kind of weird

If I am ever lucky enough to find these comic packs and have the money on me, I will probably scoop them all. With Sabretooth, I have the BYB version, but not the one with Blob (Dukes was all gimmicked-out, which I hate). So it appeals to me. As for the Wolverine in that set, I'll just set him next to the other MU Wolverines I have. One more at this point isn't really going to make that much of a difference to me. Same goes for Iron Man or Spider-Man. I've long-since passed the point where I care how many of those three I own. It's wasted energy to continually rage about it, really.

Really?

You do realize that at the bottom of every package with an image on it, there is legal text that clearly states that the actual items may not be as pictured, right?

Hey if you want you can customize that one into the current version of Cyclops since it already has the silver visor

Not a bad idea, but I'm ok with mixing my versions of characters, so the Wave 13 Cyclops is my Cyclops of choice.

I see these in so much abundance on the pegs. I guess the scalpers don't care for these either considering that they are just repaints. A great first class set would be beast and angel.

I wish the same were true with the DC toys. I look for Batman, Superman, Flash for my kid and all I see are these random super hero or villians that I've never heard before. I'm a Marvel guy, so I don't know DC as well. They seem to have a different approach.

And Professor X and Iceman! For the kids that want a wheelchair-bound bald guy with his pet snowman!

well, I'd buy one anyway.
