We all saw pictures of Sabertooth with The Blob, Deadpool with a HUGE cannon, Weapon X in the Stasis Chamber, and Wolverine on a Bike, right?

I have not even seen them on ebay, where did they go?

Does anybody know?

That's what I was hoping for, but what terrible timing on Hasbro's part. If I were them, I would've got those figures in stores BEFORE the movie leaves theaters.

Oh well, these are the same people who have decided to scrap the most popular joe line in years to back a loser movie line of joes.

Money Saved.

Well and they still need something to push DVD sales as well.

But yeah, I'm not currently thrilled with hasbro either, between the lack of GI Joe resolute snake eyes on shelves, death of TF animated because stores don't know how to stock right, and the lack of TF ROTF awesomeness till wave 3-4.

It's like Hasbro said, "We are the only toy company to make a profit margin as high as 60% last quarter, how can we torpedo that and fall on our faces inside of a year?" Then they got everyones ideas together and did them all.

Then they are like, "darn Mattel for beating us to the idea of knowingly using lead based paint in their toys painted in China. They will lose more money than us again! Darn you Mattel for finishing last no matter how bad we treat our fan base of collectors!"

I think we are not seeing them yet, due to all the stores stocking up on the current movie toys like Transformers.

How is it Hasbro's fault, if it was apparently stores "not stocking right".

Some of you guys attack this business far more than you should.

There are only a handful of redundant and mediocre figures that they aren't releasing, the Snake-Eyes being an exception. We don't have confirmation that the 7 pack won't be released.

And I'm sorry but I can't subscribe to the idea that the movie line is destroying all hope for the GI Joe property.

Like Transformers, I have a good feeling it's going to hugely revitalize the franchise, irregardless of how inaccurate it is. There are a lot of cool ROC toys that are coming out, ESPECIALLY the Snake-Eyes figures, so keep an open mind. That doesn't you don't have to keep an open wallet though

Oh I do bemoan the stores about it, in fact I loathe toys r us for this among many other reasons. It's a good chunk their fault for not having the blurr wave up for christmas because at that point all the kids had the other figures, and were asking for that wave.

But on that same notion, I'm disheartened by hasbro canning the line cause of the dips in sales because kids couldn't get the characters they wanted. (Heck I can STILL find normal animated prowl, but still no samurai prowl.) Especially after it sold so well initially. And it's not like they weren't moving here, stores just wouldn't restock them that fast, to the point pegs were empty fro weeks at a time, and when it was restocked, it was the same initial waves over and over.

In that aspect, it works both ways. The toy store screws up, and instead of seeing why, hasbro assumes it's a failing/dying line.
It'd be like if they still have the first 5 MU waves out for christmas alongside the new comic packs. Then tell us it doesn't sell anymore... Well it won't sell if new merchandise isn't out there! Not everyone kitbashes like some of us.
I'm just hoping that's the case with the XMO deluxe figures, that it's one of those pushing back to fill the rift between them and sdcc's new wave figures showings to tease for the holidays type things. Otherwise I worry the same may happen to it and MU after the DVD market figure boom.

I don't feel they've jilted the fan or collector at all, I think they've tried very hard to incorporate what we want into some of the lines, but at the same time, I'm getting peeved by their trusting of retailers who seemingly only stock the first two waves of animated over and over, while other areas get new stock. And then say, oh well it's not selling, when the problem is really even distrobution among the stores. And the store not ordering or placing the cases right.

You would not believe the amount of people disheartened to hear they couldn't get blurr till after christmas. Whereas from the movie-line at that point all they wanted was BB really.

No ICT or Ravage let alone soundwave on the release date of the ROTF toys(I went at midnight, and they didn't even have chromia's wave! And still don't the fallen's voyager wave!), just helped cement my agitation, because heaven knows when my local stores will get off their ass to get them in stock or on shelves. They aren't very good at that, just restocking the same initial waves, because "lawl they sold so well lawl." Which causes a pile up cause after about oh say a month of that, they still have new cases of the first waves while everyone is looking for later waves.

Moon Knight and Union Jack probably won't show up here till august, and that's just ridiculous. One store in particular pretends to not even know what MU is, and keeps removing the peg so the restockers can't restock right. You'd think the vendors/person representing hasbro at these stores would notice!

Mattel I've already given up on, their DCIH line here is horridly stocked, it's been the damn guy gardner wave or spectre wave since they've shown up in stores. (TRU and walmart respectively) Target locally just now got the Raven starfire captain boomerang packs in.

Now in Hasbro's defense for MU, I can understand it, they sell so fast and can't stay stocked that it very well may take till christmas so characters are saturated enough to find at any time. But I hope at that point fans don't start getting bored with the line out of impatience for new characters. And once they do finally manage to stay on shelves, is that because everyone has their fill of thos figures finally? And if they do, who's going to buy the ones on pegs for the next waves to be stocked?

I can't blame Hasbro for not asking why store are ordering one item over another. The Target in south Philly never got any MU figs in due to movie toys being out at or about the same time. Thats Targets fault not Hasbro. Hasbro is in this to make money. if one line is not getting ordered from them, then Hasbro will cancel it for whichever line is being ordered. That is just smart business.

I normally tend to agree...

Until I saw movie toys just sitting on shelves all throughout christmas, no new animated figures. And kids were actually asking for animated.

The parents when asked, said they already picked up BB at walmart, the evolution 3 pack. Stores ordered what they thought would sell, but guessed wrong. So while hasbro has tons of orders for whichever, the sales don't reflect that in store. Which leads to a mess of one getting canceled, the other not selling which makes it less likely to be ordered later, which then makes it get canceled. And then all of a sudden both are canceled inspite of the fact people wanting one. Smart business yes, practical for longevity? Not so much.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe mattel had the right idea through online, but then again they can't keep theirs in stock long enough for it to be worthwhile.

I saw them at K-Mart yesterday. All four of them. $14.99 each.

Too bad I can't afford the Deadpool one right now. He'll probably be the first to disappear.

Wow you my friend have just said everything that I have been thinking of about Hasbro for the last couple of months in just one post. I thought it only possible in to be done in pages of a blog! Kudos to you.

Meh. I like him but he doesn't look as cool as the first one imo.

His head is too long and his gear is TOO comic-esque(I know this could be taken as obvious or contradictory but I think everyone knows what I mean). All a matter of opinion though!

I'm just glad he's different enough for my wife to excuse another Deadpool purchase.

EDIT: Oh, and thanks for the comparison pics, Kluster!
