A lot of newspapers have car accidents, gang violence, not very happy things! Can't say mine does either...but this is toy related and kind of funny.

Cowichan News Leader Pictorial - Playmobil sentry goes AWOL downtown

Quote:
Downtown Duncan's smiling sentry has gone AWOL.

The latest edition of the giant Playmobil toy soldier that has guarded the Red Balloon toy shop for years vanished from his post on Thursday and his commanding officers want him back.

"We've not yet had a ransom demand," Red Balloon co-owner Phaedra Fairwell said Tuesday.

The black-red-and-silver-clad knight was on duty outside the Craig Street storefront Thursday morning as the Red Balloon opened for business.

But when employees went to bring the sidewalk display in at the end of the day, he was gone.

The five-foot six-inch soldier rests on a blue, roller-equipped pedestal. He has been on duty for about a year, following in the footsteps of a predecessor who had been patrolling the sidewalk for years.

Fairwell has no idea how he disappeared and would welcome tips from any and all who may have observed anything. Better yet, she hopes he may simply reappear as mysteriously as he vanished.

"No questions asked," Fairwell said. " We just want our guy back."

What low-life would take a display piece soldier? We should all go to eBay right now to look though, it might be there! :P

Maybe the Lego Man wanted a play date?

Although you'd think people would have better things to do than swipe a mannequin.

He's probably on vacation down here in Florida. Unfortunately nobody told him they closed the Playmobil Fun Park over a year ago.

I live in a small town, people don't even lock their doors at night. They got shit loads of lego like things out on tables daily. Shit hardly gets stolen around here.

Well stop watching TV comedies for your facts! Its just a generalization of Canadians, sure we lock our doors. I don't know anyone who doesn't these days.

The next day , Tiberius wakes up

does his usual thing , but something seems wrong ... he looks around his house and see's his collection is missing ,

he wonders why someone took his collection of marvel figures & Dc figures (if he collects them) and not his computer everthing taken but his technical devices.

So he logs on to the toyark forums to share his terrible news , when all of a sudden he sees the "look at what i just got thread" and clicked before making a new thread the horror came to life as he saw his own possessions lost and taken to some random new arker

So this is just and example of what happens when you tell people you dont always lock your house i'm sure Tiberius does, Touch wood this doesnt really happen ( my desk is made out of wood so im typing while touching wood , and no im not a female ) or any other arker

This guy and his new wife went to Jamaica for their honeymoon, where they stayed in a bungalow on the beach. One day they came back to their bungalow to discover they'd been robbed. The burglars had taken everything of value, their money, binoculars, video camera, even clothes, but luckily had missed their camera and some worthless personal items, such as toiletries.

The couple decided to make the best of it, and enjoyed the rest of their honeymoon. Once back in Miami, they had the film developed from their vacation. There, along with the pictures of themselves snorkeling and hanging out on the beach, were some pictures the burglars had taken.

The robbers had taken turns shoving the couple's toothbrushes up rears and photographing each other doing so.
