TARQ CRAMMER HERE! /rings random bells and buttons/ /BULL NOISES/

Now the Thor toys entered this market with a fair amount of respect with prospect of increasing in value and popularity.

Lots of us invested in this stock and now we are seeing it slump a little bit!

/MORE RANDOM BUTTONS AND NOISES/

Lots of us would really like to at least get the last few figures worth getting from this wave (Destroyer, Heimdall, Sif, Warriors 3).

So my question is, should we

BUY BUY BUY (AKA give up on waiting to see these in stores and try and get these figures from scalpers/indonesia/ebay)

Sit on it (Wait....)

SELL SELL SELL (This toyline is screwed we won't see any of these at all just like the IM2 unmasked pack)

What do you guys think?

I understand only about half your post (stock market) but I think its about the Thor toy line in general which I think was pretty crappy to begin with.

The only worthwhile figures to me is Destroyer and maybe a Frost Giant or two.

I'm kinda perplexed as to why people would think that any of the other figures are worthwhile or up there with some of the better MU figures.

Granted, the Odin with the mini-mates helmet and a staff is ok.

I will finish the line based on completionism, they are otherwise useless IMO.

I'm going to patiently wait for the latter waves to arrive, whether it be at the big 3 or at a TJ Maxx/Marshalls-type outlet.

Lol to clarify the subject of my post

The current toy stores are FLOODED with Thor wave 1. Wave 2 and 3 and other deluxe toys have not made appearances and it has been 5 monthes since the introduction of this line.

My question is...do you feel like that if you truly want to have the Sif, Heimdall Warrior 3 figs should you

a) get them from ebay for 50 bucks
b) wait
c) give up

Crappy line all around. I know that during the SDCC Marvel panel it was explained in a somewhat generic way as-to why the movie lines are scaled a bit smaller than the MU line. But that still doesn't explain why the movie Thor figures are smaller than the Captain America movie figures who are smaller than the Iron Man movie figures that are for the most part in scale with MU figures. Thor should be bigger than Cap. Thats why they cast that huge dude to play him in the film. I bought one Thor figure, movie Thor, and he is as short if not shorter than Cap who is a bit short of where he should be to begin with.

Movie figures to me have always been hit or miss. I would never go out of my way to collect one unless I really liked it. But the completes in me is satisfied with focusing on Marvel Universe. This is an issue Hasbro and marvel should work on.

I don't understand why this line is 'crappy' at all, aside from the stupid accessories.

I was able to find the warriors 3. I didn't plan on buying them but I did when I saw them in person. Only time I've ever seen them at stores. Destroyer has been off and on lately. I'll see a bunch of him on the pegs, then he disappears for a while, then I'll start seeing him again. Never seen King Loki though.

I hate to be a stickler guys but we have discussed the quality of the Thor figures AD NAUSEAM in other threads.

In THIS thread I'm discussing the future of the line and whether or not , much like the late IM2 waves, if the later Thor waves will be impossible to get.

If SO then would it or would it not be a smart move to buy these through online vendors instead of waiting?

If you REALLY want them and can afford it, yeah, I'd say just go ahead and try and buy them online. I'm not too sure if we're gonna see wide distribution on the later waves. MAYBE when the DVD gets released, which is on Sept.13, we'll see an increase in the newer figures. I hope so anyway. I really want that King Loki.

If you decide to sell, hit me up. I'm primarily a movie line collector, so I don't mind if they don't fit too well, and the ones that pop up on ebay tend to be a little more than I like to pay for a single figure...

If we ever get to the point where the Sif wave has been 'released' and no one's seeing it, I'll pobably bite the bullet and order from BBTS or something, and give anything in the case I don't want to a kid's charity or something... the frequent hunting trips in my fuel-inefficient truck are starting to cost more than the figures I buy.

I'd say to wait. I don't see the prices raising up that much if any and as others have said, there might be more waves released closer to the avengers release date and may eventually be found at kohls, Ross, TI Maxx and other retail stores like this.

I hate to be a stickler as well and reiterate that these Thor figures suckkkkkkkk.....

I doubt figures like Sif and the Destroyer are going to be showing up at TJ Maxx or Ross... those places have never got anything good in my experience.

Never found anything at Ross, but last year at TJ Maxx I found XMO Cyclops, Iceman and they even had a Deadpool (that I didn't need.) All for five bucks each. So, hit and miss, but still worth checking out. Have not tried Khols...

You know if you display your specific movie figures together as a group then they are in scale with each other.I believe thats how they are meant to be displayed, works for me. We gotta keep em seperated!!

That's not how I see it. That may be one way to deal with the scale problem but it's still a problem. I'm a Marvel fan. I collect "Marvel Universe." So when these lines are released I see it as an opportunity to fill in missing slots for my Marvel Universe collection.

Scale matters. Or at least it does to me. I know I'm not the only one that holds this opinion. But from my point of view, many only collect these lines as accompanying lines to the line that they primarily collect.

So I don't see why Hasbro wouldn't just pay a little more attention to scale. Doesn't seem that hard to understand this point from a marketing standpoint, or that hard to achieve from a design and manufacturing standpoint.

That being said I understand that there will always be some issues with scale. But it shouldn't effect the overall size and scale of an entire line.

But I'm glad your happy...

Frankly a lot of collectors and kids collect these because on a toy isle there's 30 pegs worth of thor, cap and iron man and maybe 1-2 pegs of MU figures. Atleast that's the way it is at my retail outlets, the rest of the isle is full or wrestling, ufc, techdeck, models, Disney's cars and toystory stuff, ben10, some gi joe, starwars, hockey figures, sometime video game stuff. If I walked in and there was 10 pegs of MU stuff I'd shit a brick, I've seen the comic 2packs and the tru 2packs but never 3packs, galactus,skrull/goliath,goliath/frost giant packs anytime, they never made it my way. which sucks as they aren't cheap to buy especially the early goliath. I personally keep all my thor stuff together and my cap stuff together my iron man stuff all together and mu seperate, but I do mix and mingle them for photos and displays, frankly the cap figures work decent with mu, iron man figures work well 2, and thor has hit and misses, destroyer being the hit I got the 8'' version and he's badass towering over the rest.

I won't clear out a store so they order more just so I can get the figures I want.

...figure rather. All I need is Sif.

If I gotta shell out some buck on ebay for her, I probably will.

Oh, and Heimdall. But the Wave 2 deluxe figures for Iron Man eventually showed up in stores, so I'm hoping he will as well.

If and when the later waves of Thor come out, I'd like to pick up a helmeted Thor and King Loki, but those are really the other other ones I really wanted to buy. The rest of the line just doesn't appeal to me. Love the characters, but the figures....

So I guess I'm in the "Still waiting..." camp.
