Alien Covenant-6/10

I'm being nice and giving it a 6 for some cool sequences and having some intriguing/likeable characters....and nice visuals.

But this is a stupid, stupid movie. I think it's actually worse than Prometheus. Complete waste of time.

I'm officially done with the Alien franchise. It's dead.

Hardcore Henry - 5/10
Very stupid on rails shooter live action Wii game made for pubescent boys. It is pretty entertaining with a buttload of gratuitous graphic violence and gore and a pretty dope strip club slayfest with boobs and stuff, so not really that bad.

I really loved the movie it was very well done, and it's crazy that Jordan Peele did something so out of his territory, yet pulled it off so well. It was a great movie and I would watch it again. Probably an 8/10 for me.

I heard mixed things about the third Hellraiser. I probably won't watch it. 2 is the only one I would consider watching again. Although I thought it was really weird how the main chick's boyfriend just disappeared in it, despite being shown at the beginning from archival footage.
Yeah, I'm pretty impressed with Jordan Peele myself. It was just the right amount of satire and humor and actual tension.

I forgot there was something going on with the boyfriend. I haven't seen any in a few years but I remember him being the worst part of either movie.

Prometheus-5.5/10

Watched this with a friend yesterday. Forgot how bad it is. Really, after watching it, I think I was too hard on Covenant and it is indeed a better movie, despite being a marriage of tones that doesn't work. Neither are great movies. Prometheus is certainly not even good. I think Covenant probably deserves a 6.5, the characters and visuals are just so much better.

Prometheus is just so pointless....only somewhat connected to Alien, and changes parts of the mythology (such as changing the space jockey from a big dead alien, to a humanoid creature who just wears an alien-looking suit. lame.). It also raises more questions than it answers. At least Covenant gave us a few answers.

Life - 7.5. This movie is way better then I went in expecting (Thanks to those Moron Critics) and it's a Great movie. The Acting was superb. The "Twist" ending was also awesome.

Justice League: Gods and Monsters - 9/10

Wish they'd do more with this version of the characters and I thought the three actors that voiced Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman did a great job.

Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales 6.5/10

Just kinda meh. Not bad certainly, but also not good per say. Just meh. A few cool scenes, but mostly meh. Jack Sparrow's schtick is getting stale, they need to make you more emotionally invested in him. He used to be more of a hero.

The post-credits scene does have me excited for the next one though. But the series does like its tank is almost empty, so they better make the next one good.

Fire & Ice - 6/10
Bakshi & Frazetta collaboration. Animated titties & low-angle crotch shots plus a blonde barbarian dude commits genocide of dark-skinned bad guys. Pretty inappropriate, but the animation is very decent.

I don't remember any nudity per se. Just a lot of wiggling around and the main chick losing various pieces of wispy clothing and whatnot.

Alien: Covenant 7/10

Leaps and bounds better than Prometheus. I was entertained from start to finish, and really, that's all I look for in a movie. Especially since I wasn't really expecting to like it at all. The CGI was a bummer, but given the xeno's super fluid, fast movements, I guess I can see why they did it. I prefer some things being left a mystery, so the origin story didn't thrill me. If it weren't for that aspect, I'd give it an 8. Overall, the movie made me more excited to get NECA's offerings, and that's a bonus.

Watched Logan over the weekend, despite the major hype it received at release, I felt the same as you. All of the Logan and X-23 scenes/moments were all pretty great, but ultimately it left me wanting more. Wish it could have a smidge closer to the Old Man Logan source material.

I really wanted to like it. Kinda felt unfulfilled. Loved the new 'monsters' though.

Wonder Woman - 10/10

The last time I was this excited for a superhero film was Batman v Superman after what I thought was an excellent trailer, I was willing to give DC a pass for Man of Steel and hope they had got their act togethr for BvS. The disappointment was significant.
I really, really wanted to like this, and thankfully it made it really easy to love it. I thought it was fantastic from start to finish, the story was engaging and had some moral and emotional sophistication, the pacing was excellent and it was exceptionally beautiful. Gal Gadot was excellent, Christ Pine was the best I've seen him, the comic relief/supporting characters were all charming and for once DC didn't completely screw up the Amazons.

Wonder Woman is in my opinion easily the finest superhero film made to date, and one of my favourite films bar none. I'm actually surprised how much I loved it, and I'm so thrilled that Wonder Woman finally has a film and it is such a superb one.

what's your take on the villain? from the reviews I've read its pretty weak, like mcu-level weak. the pacing also seems to be one of the main problems.

The main villain? I actually thought it was quite effective for a number of reasons I can't go into without spoiling things. Definitely not MCU weak, but also not Loki level memorable or anything either. The two minor villains were perfectly serviceable too.

I thought the pacing was good myself, I can see that perhaps people felt the middle section of the film went on a bit too long but it felt like an old war movie and had a lot of character development so I didn't mind it at all.

Wonder Woman- 10/10
I wasn't expecting much after having gone seen Batman Vs Superman and Suicide Squad (Which were real bad) and Was Blown away without a doubt Wonder Woman is by far the Best Superhero Film I have ever seen and easily one of the best films I've seen overall. It had the perfect amount of action,Drama, and Comedy. I am definitely going to see it again in theaters

Logan - 9/10
Just punched all the right buttons for me.

Black Mask - 7/10
Pretty entertaining. Don't think I've ever seen this one before and it was a pretty good actioner.

The Girl With All the Gifts - 7/10
Interesting take on the zombie genre. Seemed kinda flawed to me but not enough to derail my enjoyment.
