A lot of people don't even know the movie exists, it's a real shame. It also gave Batman one of the best original love interests of all time. Andrea should really be used more in stories, she's a great character.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier- 7.8/10 (my ratings system is changing currently)

Not enough of the Winter Soldier himself, the movie was a little TOO grounded, and wasn't the biggest fan of how they decided to completely try to destroy SHIELD instead of salvage the good people who weren't Hydra. I'm glad Joss Whedon undid that a little bit in Age of Ultron.

Still doesn't beat Iron Man, which is my favorite of the MCU, but it's in my top 5.

Guardians of the Galaxy-6/10

Opens with a very bold, heartwrenching scene that took guts as a creative decision, followed by a memorable comedic number. The end part with the "take my hand" and joining hands to weild the infinity stone is awesome as well. Everything between those moments though is very generic aside from scenes with Thanos and the Collector, which are painfully brief.. The villain is terrible. Character development isn't that great, and action scenes are pretty boring and meaningless. The only other thing the movie has going for it is the brilliant production design, whether CGI or real the locations and aesthetic are fantastic. Hair and makeup is pretty bad though. Gamora and Yondu just look like they have painted skin, and Star Lord's hairline changes more times than Iron Man does armors. In some scenes he's got a thick, intact hairline, other times he's receding like a middle aged man. Not a bad movie, but way overhyped and not that good.

Don’t really agree on winter soldier which is my top two of the mcu movies. (Can’t tell which I like more Civil War or winter soldier) but I completely agree on Guardians of the Galaxy I prefer the 2nd to the latter

I just watched it, and while I wouldn't call it a 'great' movie by any standard measure (since by the end of the film I was asking myself "What the hell did I just watch," and I feel no compunction to watch it ever again), it is nevertheless the WEIRDEST movie I've ever seen, so on that basis, thank you for the recommendation.

The Goonies—7/10

It's not as good as it was when I was a kid, but I still like it. Probably going easy on it due to nostalgia, the acting is not very good. But I still love it.

Still a classic to rewatch. Curious how Shane Black’s version will go now, given he was in the original.

Ready Player One
6/10

I love the book and this strays a bit too far from that, otherwise the score would be about an 8.5. My son loved it and even my wife, who hates sci-fi, thought it was great. Neither of them have read the book, though. My favourite part was all of the character cameos from different sources scattered throughout.

A Quiet Place
9/10

Probably the fist horror/thriller/suspense where I've actually been on the edge of my seat in a long long time. Some minor nit picks aside, it's a fantastic film.

Spiderman: Homecoming 7/10

I'm seeing Infinity War tomorrow, so today was catching up with MCU films I haven't seen.
Spiderman: Homecoming was pretty good, a lot better than I was expecting as someone who is almost completely indifferent to Peter Parker in the comics. Tom Holland was fantastic, as was everyone really. They got the balance of superheroics and teenage nonsense perfect, and the teenage nonsense was well done without feeling contrived or overdone. Keaton was one of the MCUs better villains too. My only criticism is not enough Michelle/MJ.

Doctor Strange - 5/10

I do not like Benedict Cumberbatch, I think he is a tremendously overrated actor and this film didn't change my mind. I did like the story mostly, but most of the magic effects were like something a fifteen year old boy with an inexplicable mastery of CGI would come up with. Also every moment Tilda Swinton was on screen all I could think was "Constance Wu would have done this so much better".

Avengers: Infinity War - 9/10

Great movie, Thanos is a damn moron though.

Avengers: Infinity War 8/10

Pretty thoroughly entertaining.

The Mummy 2017 - 5/10

Never justifies itself. Also, movie says Set is the god of the dead! Basic Egyptian mythology fail.

War for the Planet of the Apes - 7/10

All well made and acted, but who am I supposed to be rooting for?

Atomic Blonde - 7/10

Excessively early 80's soundtrack for a set-in-1989 movie.

Logan (2nd time) - 7/10

There's elements of a great movie, but some parts are too telegraphed and the villains aren't that great.

Deadpool 2 - 9/10

Even better than the first one, great humour, well paced, good story that subverted some of the worse tendencies of superhero films. Elevating Domino almost to co-lead in the second half was smart, and Zazie Beetz was phenomenal.

Infinity War-9/10

Great movie, total cinematic history.

Atomic Blonde-2/10

Couldn't get through it. Dogshit.

A Quiet Place- 5/10

Meh. really overrated.

I Feel Pretty- 6.5/10

Enjoyed it. Enjoyed the message. Thought it would be terrible but was pleasantly surprised.

Ready Player One-7/10

Flawed but really enjoyed it and the surprising amount of depth. Good time. They did a good job of making the stakes high which is no easy task for a virtual world.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure-5/10

Really disappointing as I enjoyed Scorch Trials a lot. Some moments were cool but just meh. Unsatisfying end for this series. I didn't read the books, I dunno if that would have changed anything.

Solo - 6/10

Could've been better, but to be fair, could've been a lot worse.

Deadpool 2 - 7/10

I didn't like the kid character, and that lowered the movie in my eyes. Calling every orphanage goon a pedo got old, too. Why and why, oh why name it Essex when there's no Mr. Sinister reference or reveal?

Red Sparrow - 10/10

Great movie, fantastic pacing, great story and characters, beautiful cinematography. Jennifer Lawrence was magnificent in her role as Dominika, but she wasn't alone, as the entire cast was great. Especially Jeremy Irons and Matthias Schoenaerts. Keep in mind though, this movie is a Hard R. It was a little too brutal for a friend of mine, so it's not the kind of movie for everyone.

@BagJo I feel the exact same way! That movie is incredible and probably one of her finest if not finest movies she’s been in.

@weaponX I thought I was the only one that hated Atomic Blonde glad to see I ain’t alone lol.

High 5! Yeah no it was terrible. It takes a lot for me to turn off a movie. It was boring as hell, and not shot very well in terms of framing of action and camera movement. All their time seems to have been spent on color.
