I'm not into the cutesy stuff but this looks premium and the style at least somewhat suits Arthur here like it's his old video game sprites updated in HD or something
Are they going to do a boxer shorts version too?

Union Creative released an Arthur figure a couple years back that was more along the lines of what you're describing, without the cutesy look. It even had removable armor pieces, so you could get Arthur down to his boxers.

Yeah that was good in theory but a friend of mine got the UC Arthur and it wasn't great QC wise and he wasn't the only one. But I do have a few Nendoroid figures (Kirby and Sonic) and they're pretty solid, but a shame no removable magnetic armor. Did play the game alot when I was a kid, but not many fun fond memories though.

Almost follows the Maximo games aesthetic to a tee.

This looks great. I'd imagine Red Arremer would be next.

Was it the quality control, or the fact that the approach was a little flawed in and of itself. I have that UC Arthur, and it is for sure finicky with some of the pieces. However, the overall look of him is outstanding.

Yep, I have it and doesn't come close to a Nendoroid or Figma in QC department. It's a pita to pose it, the armor doesnt fit well and keeps falling.

This. The figure was a mess as far as the armor...cool idea but flawed exectution. They also made a red arremer figure.

From when I saw his UC Arthur, was the right arm overall probably had some QC issues but it was pretty weak and, as others have posted, was frustrating for him to pose, and this friend of mine is a big FIGMA and Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi fan, so its saying something when he got negative feelings for it.

This game was so brutally hard as a kid it surprises me that anyone feels nostalgia for it. LOL.
