Hell yes. Neca, even moreso now than before, my eyes are on you. This is great news.

From NECA, I'm guessing we'll mainly see 8" clothed figures. I can't imagine them investing in tooling for fully sculpted 7" scale releases (outside of maybe a Lee Dracula).

I'm not going to get my hopes up for this when it comes to Neca.
I'd love to see some Hammer ultimates, but something tells me it will end up being retro clothed and toony terrors. I hate being this pessimistic lately about Neca. |

They specifically licensed to MEGO, so I don't get why they'd want/allow NECA to make a similar product.

Would they do that though with MEGO also making the same thing at the same time? I know they're two different pricepoints and NECA's tend to be more detailed haha

Definitely. There’s been some characters they’ve both done. But the price point ($15 vs $35) is what will separate them in the eyes of the license holder. In contract terms, those are very different markets and they likely don’t see them as directly competing with each other.

Yeah, I share the concern that NECA will go the cheap route of doing 8" MEGO style figures in fabric outfits instead of better quality plastic sculpted 7" figures. I really want a Peter Cushing Van Helsing in 7" scale along with his Doctor Frankenstein, and Lee's Dracula, Mummy, and Frankenstein characters to go with it.
I'm surprised Super 7 isn't mentioned as one of the licensees. They should jump on this and do a Reaction Hammer Horror line to compliment their Universal Monsters line. |

Really interested in seeing actual product. Agree that Neca will most likely be the retro-style figures. Somehow the retro figures feel appropriate for Hammer, although I’d be all over some Ultimates. But I also have to say that’s it pretty damn awesome that Hammer product is coming out. Never would have imagined any company would take the chance, even considering how well regarded the Hammer films are. I might bite (no pun intended).

I was just thinking the other day that it would be awesome if NECA were to release Universal Horror figures but this works almost as much. Though, I really would love an actual Imhotep at some point from the original mummy film since every company usually just does Karis.
