I knew 3D printing was involved in Hasbro's figure production, I just knew it. I brought this up when the Star Wars Black Series was announced...of course I still have no proof but more than ever I believe they may have a process of enlarging/shrinking figures between their 6 inch and 3.75 inch scales. Either way, very interesting video, I'd really like to see more behind the scenes videos like this.

that's a cool video! being a former graffiti artist myself I understand why Hasbro would hire one as a painter...

Yeah all they would have to do is take either piece and take the 3-d computer model and make a new mold that is shrunk down, don't know what secret process would be better?
They make a test piece from those 3-d in the shop then send the actual 3-d model to the people who make the molds to the correct size Interesting but doesn't most of the design still happen in Japan, no way that one guy is making every Transformer obviously. |

ONE guy paints all the toys? Why do I have trouble believing that? But if it IS true, he better get PAID.

still, with the great technology hasbro has to make great toys, at the end of the day they make those crap iron man toys, the 6" in figures for iron man have articulation as well as for wolverine and thor but the 3.75" has none. And at the end of the day, hasbroke has no idea what happened to marvel legends wave 3 variants with red deadpool etc.
what a waste for such an awful toy company to have great technology and just not make great toys with it/ |

Came here to make a similar point...I've been looking into 3D printing and it really seems that one day customizers with the right skills may be able to create some ground breaking stuff. If Hasbro is already using the 3D printing in their production process then WHY aren't their figures flawless? When you see some of the things people are making with 3D printing it's baffling to think how any of the new Marvel Legends wound up with flaws. Some of the recent ML releases have reminded me of those awful GI Joe Sigma 6 figures with the awkward proportions and somewhat blocky parts. Are they just looking to save money?
