Hasbro Thor movie Deluxe Heimdall Asgard Defender | eBay
It's going for $66+, damn had I known he was that rare I might of kept mine moc, he's a decent figure 1 of the best in the thor line minus the lack or arm/wrist articulation. Anybody else find him rare? and if so is he comparable to Sif? |

Funny because I almost didnt look, like you said its always the same stuff. I was already leaving the aisle and I remembered that I didnt go through the thor figures. Low and behold the first figure I see was Volstagg, then a destroyer. It was a pretty good find. I even found a Red Skull variant hiding behind the deluxe figures.

Wow. Crazy that he's going for so much. I've never seen him in stores anywhere but I would never pay that much for him.

Nice.. I lucked out when I found the Heimdall figure, same type of deal. For me when I go hunting it's all about walking, I have no car at the moment, and fuck taking taxis everywhere and the bus is limited. try to get dropped off at the mall hit up zellers, winners, then bail walk over to wallmart which is through a large parking lot, cross 4 lanes of traffic, then walk 1/4 mile to walmart, once there I can walk about another 1/4 mile to a small toy shop, often times I don't bother as I'm tired by the time I finish hunting through walmart. Normally there's no change in his stock but this time there was .. found Heimdall and a 8'' destroyer. I like the owner and the shop, just not all the pricing, but mass collectors don't shop there, so I get to cherry pick the best figures mainly because he charges like 20% more then walmart but he gives me deals, especially if I buy bulk.

Yeh he's a cool guy, His store's called Owl's Hollow, it has a variety of things from kid related and enfant related stuff like books, stuffed animals etc, as soon as you walk in, then you walk down a set of stairs to see a huge wall of figures, neca, marvel,dc, movie, video game, mcfarlane, 3''-18'' figures, around retail prices, slightly higher, he also has model supplies, knitting supplies, watch parts, all kinds of goodies,a multi hobby type shop. He has sdcc thor.cap and spidey, asking $30/figure, I got thor, may pick up cap this pay possibly spidey, I lucked out getting Heimdall,Destroyer and SS Venom, if I find any rare finds will post tomorrow especially anything for trades. He was asking $13 for hemidall lot better then $60.

i managed to get my heimdall for about ÂŁ14. I had a feeling he was going to be hard to find. but $66 is just a scalper price.

Did everyone even realize that the bid has gone up to $66? There's been a lot of bids on this, don't blame the seller as a scalper, blame the buyers for bidding it that high.
Heimdall looks decent at best and not worth more than retail at all.

I don't have one but Ive seen this figure in hand. It is big and yes the limited articulation blows for posing. I would not pay over $20 for these last series Thor figs, even if I never see them at retail.
That's cool that you have a couple commercial and an aftermarket stores so close. We have a similar spot in S.Attleborough MA. Always hit the aftermarket store last because of those prices. I took a mental inventory of all the things I wanted but did not get. (He wanted $7 and up for loose MU figs. Crazy) Hopefully we will see these more State side when we get closer to Christmas time.

Generally, I like what Hasbro does, but as this was my fave movie of the year thus far, it's really irritating that most of the unique characters came out in later waves as well as that while we did get an initial Loki figure, the main version of the film's villiam "King Loki" seems to be the rarest of them all. Lame.

Sif should be on the way to me as well.. the lot of them on ebay was where I picked mine up. Probably the same for you stjugg? Still nothing here either though..
Seen Heimdall on amazon for like 30ish a while back and passed. Figure looks pretty crappy, but kind have wished I'd have gotten him just to complete the line now if this is what he goes for. Oh stupid. |

The rarity of the final wave and deluxe figures seems to fall both on retail and Hasbro. On retail for sensing that Thor's popularity is waning and not ordering additional waves. On Hasbro for loading the final waves with the popular figures. Kids don't buy 14 different Thors! They might buy two Loki if they are different, two Odin to get one with a helmet, and more characters if they were available. But wave 1 was essentially 6 Thors ... with a Loki and Odin thrown in for fun. And some Ice giants that were a pale comparison to the Giant fig released a week or so earlier. I would love to ask Hasbro why they didn't do ANY comic figures in this line, while a ton in Captain America and could done even more in the IM2 line (also mismanaged with 1400 Iron Man figures!). In a recession, people aren't buy Cap in a parka, Thor with a gold chest plate or a blue cape; they want one excellent rendition - or maybe two or three if each is really unique. The Deluxe sets were horrible for Hasbro this year. I hope they learn from this.

haha, that convo can go on forever.
He started the bid at $11.99. Blame the people with money trees in their backyard that raise the auction prices ridiculously.

What stores have you been finding this guy at?
Actually the two pack Cap with the polka dot pants and Cap with parka are the only Caps I've picked up so far. Last edited by roshan; 09-08-2011 at 10:47 AM.. |

So far every single store in my area has only wave one figures that have never been touched. I would have liked to get all of the movie characters but refuse to buy stuff online and with higher prices that I'd only get if I happen to come across them in the store, ah well.
