"johnny silverhand" has got to be the lamest name they tossed around, or maybe just the first.

It is a little cheesy but I think it’s a play on “Johnny Mnemonic”, which is an older cheesy cyberpunk-y movie.

Mmmmm... not sure about. The game is actually based on the Cyberpunk pen and paper RPG which dates back to 1988. Cyberpunk seems to be heavily based on Blade Runner. It seems he first appeared in the Welcome to Night City supplementary booklet. And from what I read, the original inspiration for Johnny Silverhand was David Bowie from 'Labyrinth'.

And no, no, I'm no walking encyclopedia. I just looked it up.

But all this being very interesting, I wonder how CD Projekt RED will fix the disaster this game unexpectedly turns out to be on console (I'm less informed about the PC version, but from what I read it also has tons of bugs and runs far from smooth on a somewhat normal rig)? After being hyped for 8 years and being in development for almost as long, the result turns out to be rather disappointing, to put it mildly. I wonder how all those licensee holders will react to that? :s

Good thing this will take a few years to release... gives the developer time to fix the horrible bugs in the game and salvage what they can of the people who bought the game only to get a largely unplayable mess.

It’ll be interesting to see the demand of the collectibles based on the game, seeing as how the game has been a huge failure on all platforms except PC.

The two games I waited almost a decade for, FF7 Remake and Cyberpunk, turned out to be massively underwhelming and flat out bad.

Honestly wonder if anyone buys stuff from Cyberpunk outside of a Silverhand just because Keanu.

The 7" figures seem to be shelfwarming at Walmart for months now. With the negative reactions to the game, I doubt this Hot Toys figure will be a big seller either
