A full range of Nintendo figures is something I've wanted for a very long time, but Jakks??? Can't say I'm very enthusiastic about this announcement. I mean, their WWE figures were alright, but I can't think of much else that has be confident they'll produce quality, articulated figures.

Why can't Figma just do a full line of Super Smash Bros. figures? Their Samus and Link are two of my favorite figures of all time! I want more of that.

Hey, they did do the pretty good DBZ figures back in the early 2000s. 'Member that awesome Cyborg Frieza?

Took long enough for them to get someone to do toys for them...though JAKKS has already been doing Nintendo toys. They've put out some Pokemon toys and plushes recently.

In any event, I hope that the Halloween line will mean a licensed convention-safe replica of the Master Sword. And hopefully it won't be too small like the Rubies stuff is.

EDIT:

You're getting close to that, they have Pit from Kid Icarus and Marth from Fire Emblem in their line-up.

True, but I REALLY want a highly articulated Mario figure. Also would like a Bowser, Starfox and Donkey Kong done in the same style.

No reason why they couldn't do that, I don't think. I assume Jakks just has the US license and not the license for Japan.

Jakks signed a worldwide license. It won't necessarily preclude other licenses, but Jakks stuff can be sold and distributed globally.

I got those figures a while back, they are indeed awesome!

I'll be interested to see what Jakks do.

The license ISN'T for Japan though, so this won't affect the Figma series.

Oh man....Jakks' quality control is good but their SCALE is usually off...so if we get Bowser and Mario fully articulated figures, and Toad and Princess...they're all most likely going to be the same height.

I don't know, their WWE figures seem to be in-scale with each other. Rey Mysterio is at least a head shorter than most of the other guys in the line and the bigger guys like Big Show, Undertaker and Kane are all taller than most (all at the same price point).

I'd be up for a SMB (or SSB) line, if it's done the same as their WWE line. I would say I'd want 3.75", but at that scale most of the designs will make it difficult to include much in the way of articulation.

Although Samus Aran would be awesome in any scale....

In before they align their character priorities with Nintendo, ie: Tons of Mario with a bit of DK and Zelda. Because we all know those are the only popular series the company has ever made.

Just make some 1/18th scale Samus Aran figures and I'll be happy.

I won't expect anything like the figma figures, but if they released every possible character when they had the Rocky license, including a side of beef, so hopefully they'll go all out, even though there's not much scope for parts recyling.

Okay so worldwide except for Japan and Korea. Makes sense since some of their licenses have already been parted out to different companies in Japan.

I wonder if US companies would ever embrace the ball joints of Japanese figures. Or if the Japanese figures would pass US toys standards.

Ratchet joints similar to the Revoltech figures have appeared on the new 6" Sonic and the Black Knight figures...

That would be nice, an actual decent Sonic figure. Every one I've gotten has had some odd articulation or very loose articulation that makes them fall over.

I dunno man...the Jakks figures I saw were all the same height...this is one huge reason I think Mattel makes the better WWE figures, because theirs are all in-scale.

HELL YES. Now that I can get behind, Arwing FTW! Maybe have the pilots separate and the Arwing painted/printed up but with individual personalized marking stickers included on a sheet. That way it's up to the buyer to personalize the Arwing.

No argument there. Mattel does WWE figures better, hands down.

Hopefully the character designs for these new figures will force the designers to keep all the Nintendo characters in some sort of unified scale (probably based on SSB, I'd imagine).
