apologies in advance for the large photo dump, but here's my birthday haul:
Marvel infinity saga pickups * IMG snip * i don't play apex legends (battle royale isn't my scene) but this version of bloodhound really drew my attention. The overall design really reminds me of horizon zero dawn but then with the gun that looks like it's from district 9, the cool axe, and the raven i was all in. It's not a great figure with some limited articulation due to design around the shoulders and then the paint scheme isn't particularly detailed but i still think it's alright overall. * IMG snip * movie baroness is a decent classified figure. The neck is a bit too long, her fingers should be skin colored, and the lower left knee hinge is totally stuck on mine but the gun is nicely done and the blades are just gravy since i don't remember those being in the movie at all. lando in his general attire be like "would ya get going ye space pirate, arrrrr!" seriously though it's a solid if simple figure, he looks good and is sufficiently articulated. The soft goods cape is still iffy, i feel like vader is the only one they've really done it well with. It'd be nice if we wind up getting a nien nunb to go with lando here. ciri from mcfarlane is as impressive as their geralt, maybe more so. I think the hair is possibly a bit too full on the sides but other than that the figure has a lot of nice sculpted and painted detail. Her sword's hilt is chunky but overall it's a well made accessory and the attachable "blink" dashing effect looks cool but adds a bit of weight to it and also takes up a decent amount of space. lastly then, the entire build-a-shark wave from the suicide squad. I originally wasn't thrilled to see this version of harley in the wave but after actually seeing the movie i warmed up to this look and the figure is pretty good but i think her skin tone should be paler and the javelin should be a bit longer. Peacemaker is pretty cool except for the no-gun policy but thankfully for me i actually already had a nice 1/10 scale deagle that came with dst's jules. Bloodsport is okay but again no guns and his sci-fi motif is harder to match with anything i already have, his copper parts are also a bit too clean and like a new penny in color when they should look more like an old dirty penny. Polka dot man is perfectly fine, nothing wrong here since he didn't use guns and i liked him in the movie so he's nice to have in the group. Nanaue is obviously the big winner of the assortment even though this collect to build version's pants are missing the tacky pattern seen in the movie and on the gold label release, he's still just a good large shark guy. Really feeling the void left by not having ratcatcher in the line now, but fingers crossed they get to her sooner than later. Quote:

got studio series '86 wreck-gar in from amazon. Damn this has been a good year for g1 style transformers with '86 grimlock, kingdom galvatron, and now this figure all knocking it out of the park. The bike mode is a little thin/empty around the back of the seat where you can see the rear wheel coming through, but honestly it's still an overall good looking junk cycle that matches what we saw on screen. The robot mode then gets to be pretty much flawless in appearance and sports a lot of good usable articulation including his crazy nipple blasters. I fully expect to see hasbro repainting this figure and throwing on a new head probably 2 or 3 more times so those fans that want to can build up a nice junkion squad.

i forgot they were different beyond the head and colors. It probably doesn't help my recollection that so far the only times that i can think of any other junkions getting toys have just been a few releases of junkheap and scrapheap and both of those were the reveal the shield wreck-gar repainted with different heads.
* img snip * my walmart finally stocked some new dc multiverse so i picked up etrigan. It's based on the demon knights series but this design was also used in the injustice comics and i think it translates pretty well into toy form. In the source material the flourishing sculpt on his armor was typically red like the crest on the cuirass and pentagram belt piece on this figure, but i've seen it also not be so i guess they based the figure on one of those appearances. I think it looks fine left in the metallic grey since the sculpting is noticeably good looking and painting it might have resulted in some sloppy qc issues from figure to figure. It's an overall nicely sculpted figure with the scale-mail, previously noted armor, and textured cape, but the head is also particularly well done. One other detail i like is that the cape isn't just grey, which i used to think it was based on the original leaked images, but it's actually sort of a light periwinkle that helps give the toy some more color.

Original Bad Batch team complete, now they have to make Echo, but he would be tougher since part of his head is part of his helmet

Damn Kain! That’s awesome! Was it in the games section? What was the price?
I had good luck today. Found the old fashioned plastic light-up Halloween decorations at Walmart. They were $40 each but I had to have them. They are 3 feet tall. The x-wing and hot wheels were target. I did not know about the x-men jet, it’s really awesome! The x-wing is a masterpiece. The Jurassic park set came from mattel collector. 6CCB1087-54C6-462B-AC17-06259A94EC19 by Comedian Horseman, on Flickr |

They got me again, last time Hasbro did Infinity War Cap, I bought 2 so he would have 2 Wakandan shields, this time I bought 2 again so he would have 2 matching shields. Works well with the calm head with the closed shields and angry head with the opened shields

Walmart and Walgreens pick ups today!
I found this guy at a Walgreens in Murfreesboro, TN. I didn't count how many were on the shelf but it looked like they got a case of him. |
