I snagged my off the first run, easily my best Robocop figure. Glad you were able to get one, pics are insanely good as always, and all that Robocop stuff in one pic... I'd buy that for a dollar.

I thankfully didn't have that issue. I wonder if they intentionally tightened those on the 2nd run.

Luckily mine did not have that issue, I'm sorry yours did. That tends to be Mafex, hit or miss with QC issues but they have gotten much better. Hopefully no one in round 2 has loose ankle issues.

I've bought 3 of the NECA Robocops in the past, and while this one looks nice, I don't intend to ever buy another Robocop figure until someone can convince (pay) Peter Weller to let them use his likeness for an unmasked Murphy headsculpt. Hot Toys was able to do it for their 1/6 scale figure, so its likely just a money issue and these other companies like NECA don't want to pay him enough to do an unmasked face. Hot Toys was even able to do a Murphy figure in his OCP police uniform. I'd love to get a figure like that too in 6" scale if a company is ever able to secure likeness rights.

For those of you who own this figure, can the shoulders be adjusted upwards? The arms in the Toyark photos fall lower in the socket than the advance photos showed. In that Toyark picture that shows the MAFEX next to the NECA and the FIGMA versions, the top of the shoulder armor on the MAFEX's arms should (and do not) rise above the chest plate, as they do on the other two.

I preordered one of these from BBTS when they first went live in November 2017. When I finally got it in hand a year later in 2018 I was disappointed to see that the base chestplate and helmet had scratches and scuffs on the paint job, very obvious and glaring. Never even got to open it, just packaged it back up and returned it.
Killed the figure for me. |

Great photos. I ordered from overseas so have to wait for mine.
The bust from Chronicle is out of my price range, but oh my, it looks so nice. |

If you're fine with the NECA one I'd say no. Unless you really want one that's more fully articulated then there's no need to have another Robocop. This one does look cool and all but I have the NECA one so I see no reason to pay for another Robocop just so he can strike more action poses.

If you collect mainly 7" scale NECA, DST, McFarlane Toys, then I would say no. This will be noticeably smaller on the shelf.
If you're looking for something closer to Mezco's One:12 scale, then this is a good pick up. It has better articulation and more accessories, plus I think a better looking overall sculpt, as it should for a $90+ figure versus a $17 figure.

It's an apples and oranges comparison. I have this figure, and outside the Hot Toys version (which I also own,) I can honestly say that unless the upcoming Robocop 3 figure is better, this is the end-all, be-all of Robocop figures. It honestly doesn't get much better in terms of sculpt and articulation, scales well with most 6 inch figures (including Marvel Legends) and is just a ton of fun to mess around with.
The NECA one is good, and looks fine on the shelf, but it's extremely limited in what it can do and how it can be posed. The sculpt is good, but it honestly just doesn't have what the Mafex version does in terms of look and playability. You get what you pay for with the Mafex version, so if you are a huge fan of the original films, it's by far the way to go. I didn't have any of the issues with the ankles that others were mentioning, though I did have an issue with the "battle damaged" chest plate pegging properly and not sitting flush on the chest. I've been able to overlook it though mostly because it's supposed to be battle damaged, so in my mind's eye, it's shifting from the frame due to impact and blunt force trauma, not to mention that it's really specific to a particular scene, so I rarely use the piece to begin with. |

The NECA one is good...... I have the NECA video game version with the flames. I LOVE IT. More than I thought. Pretty stiff but so cool looking, especially in person. Buuut if this MAFEX articulation is happening like youre talking..end all be alllllll...I gotta have that Robo. He is definitely one of my all time action heroes. The internet videos I've seen might not be doing it justice. OMG my dog just farted so hard, i can't breathe... Is there much difference aside from sculpt with the MAFEX Robocop 1 & 2? Did they improve any of the articulation or stability or QC issues? I'd lean toward buying the better manufactured over sculpt. Sadly, I really only have the budget for one of them in my collection. Maybe I should wait and pre=order Robocop 3? |
