Hey everyone it's Johnny.
I have been collecting comics for about a year now. I love Marvel. I've been looking for a good story to read. Right now, as it stands, I am reading: Mighty Avengers Avengers The Initiative Dark Avengers Captain America Thor Nova Guardians of the Galaxy I just recently dropped Dead Pool. It's too boring. The comedy is poor. Is there anything out there right now in the current Marvel story arc that is worth reading? and, What do you read? Marvel or otherwise?

I mostly read Spidey, and then try to follow other big events in the MU. I used to read a lot more books, but I find I have less and less time to read them, and less and less space to keep them.
Astonishing X-Men was great when I followed it regularly. Haven't read it recently, so I would hate to recommend it and have you be disappointed, but I would imagine it's still great. |

Amazing Spider-man has been fantastic since Brand New Day started, but it comes out 3 times a month, so that can be a bit pricy.
Captain America was a solid book, and one I would recommend. Also, Daredevil--this series has been lights out since it restarted ten years ago. X-factor is good if you like a little bit of comedy with your action. Outside of Marvel, I would recommend the GI Joe: Cobra series. It's a cross between GI Joe and 24. DC books are hit and miss for me. I hear something's going on with Green Lantern...but I'm not sure what it is. |

I've been reading Star Wars : Legacy, which is fantastic. Pretty popular at my comic shop.
I DO read Captain America. It's a solid book along with Thor and Nova. I am always looking for something new to read too. Daredevil looks good but...idk...

I got back into comics big time a few years ago. But with all the Joe and MU figures coming out I've cut back a little bit. I haven't bought anywhere near as much as I used to. I would give almost every Marvel title a chance but I leaned more towards the stuff that really was shaping the Marvel Universe (comics not toys).
New Avengers, Dark Avengers, Spider-Man, Avengers Initiative. X-Force, Cable, Astonishing X-Men were also good reads. I haven't been to the comic shop lately. Thinking about it makes me want to go again. |

Do you like Thunderbolts? Ms Marvel?
What about some Astonishing X-Men or X-Force? |

I had to drop Dead Pool, the comedy is really poor in it.
I was thinking about picking up the Thunderbolts to catch up on my favorite character, Eric O'Grady. AKA ANTMAN. I really enjoyed that story a lot. I know he is in the T Bolts but it seems like T bolts are moving in a new direction now, right? or am I wrong? I was reading X-men First class but it was a bit dry...nothing spectacular. I highly recommend HERCULES though for all of you out there. He is one of my favorite characters.

Yes the newer deadpool series is a tad on the lame side. That's just Danny way. hes sucks major ass. I'm a Marvel dude but there really isn't anything good out there. I just get deapool because he's always been my fave and I collect him. If you want a good read go DC and get Green Lantern. Honestly marvel sucks anymore. I'm tired of all these lame characters they keep tryig to push. The Civil War and Dark Reign did nothing but hurt Marvel.

I have not been a Marvel fan long but I really enjoyed both Civil War and the Dark Reign. Currently I am loving Siege. It's getting intense but it's a quite unfocused if you do not read several other comics.
Deadpool was funny when I first started reading. Don't get me wrong DP is an awsome character and I love him. But I enjoy following the main story line more than anything else. I heard that about the Green Lantern series. I've never been a big DC guy. Things just never seemed to be as down to Earth as they are with Marvel. YEAH Marvel has some crazy characters but they never seemed as unbelievable as they did in DC. THEN AGAIN...they are all fictional characters anyway. So does anyone else agree with Icantbeserious? That Marvel was taken down a notch because of Civil War and Dark Reign story lines? I don't agree, but I see your point. It was an extreme change that really upset the whole balance of the universe...but that is why I like it!

I honestly think it will SUCK!!!!! well, actually...I think it's going to get really good. It's just....when I think of "Heroic Age" I think of a real CHEESY SUPER HERO "I'LL SAVE YOU!" kinds of stories....I hope it still is lowkey like how Dark Age is or how Siege is going now.

Johhny, if you've only gotten into comics in the last year, my suggestion would be to track down back issues of early Deadpool. The comedy and storytelling were perfect.
Unfortunately, I can't really recommend anything current as I haven't read any comics consistently for a long time now. I still keep up on the major events through friends and Wiki entries, though.

X-Men Legacy, is that the new comic that's kinda like a redo of Jim Lee's? Like the 90's cartoon. Speaking of the cartoon when will vol 5 be out?

Definitely go for Dark Reign War Machine. Also Ares' and Hawkeye's mini series arcs.
