Speedball is the most important figure there, and only one of two instabuys for me. The other being Rhino. Thor and Blue Marvel look good. The rest ... maybe but doubtful.

The Captain didn't have a scale mail shirt. I just would have liked to have gotten some texture or sculpted details. Hell, they have damn near all the parts. Reuse the new Cap mold and give us a new torso. I am not a fan of them returning to naked bucks for figures like this. It looks cheap.

Ah, I see that now. On first look I was just thinking about the columns and went straight to Greece with it.
I actually got that Ghost Rider very easily since I was at my Walmart when they had just put them on the pegs and the only one already taken was the superior Venom, that was the only time I ever saw him though. I've bitched about it before but I only ever got the Ghost Rider and Scarlet Spider and not enough of that wave stuck around to go on clearance, plus then some of them were ludicrous on the aftermarket, so this deluxe Rhino is satisfying but also feels long overdue. This is the perfect rerelease for the classic Spider-Man line. |

^ I often wonder where all the Misty Knights went to since they never showed up at discount stores.

Initially my mind went straight to the same place. That location plus the inclusion of the erlenmeyer flask really ramped up the intrigue at uncovering this mysterious release. That was until someone in the other thread pointed out the re-used backdrop and its nil significance to this upcoming character. My concern for this has now waned entirely.

They said they have more NWH figures in the works, but they weren't allowed to work on anything until after the movie had been released.
I'd say Madame Hydra is far more significant than Speedball. After all, she was the first person who "killed" Steve Rogers back in the 60s. Or rather, made Steve realize revealing his identity to the world was a big mistake so he had to fake his death and hide it again.

$2 adds up if you're ordering the whole set, or multiple of a figure (like Quake/Hill)

I wish they'd be consistent with the new articulation. Madam Hydra gets the old arms yet Quake gets the new arms.

Just getting Spidey, Rhino, and US Agent. Wished they would've upgraded that Rhino a bit with the Armadillo Torso, but it's better than nothing. Hopefully the Select Rhino gets a re-release soon too. Both sculpted by Gentle Giant if I remember correctly.
I remember when that Rhino Wave was at TRU and they were readily available on the pegs. They even ran a $10 Sale and a Buy 1 Get 1 1/2 off sale on that wave. Took a minute for them to shoot up in price on the secondary. No joke local TRU had like half of a long aisle full of that Wave.

They said they gave Hydra the arms of White/Black Queen on purpose due to them having the glove lines sculpted on.

Yet they couldn't get her legs with sculpted boot rims.

Or rather, made Steve realize revealing his identity to the world was a big mistake so he had to fake his death and hide it again. But Speedball is responsible for "Civil War", one of Marvel's biggest events ever that also ended up killing Steve Rogers for real. (Course he got better, but still...) Plus the Madame has had a figure in Marvel Legends in the past from Hasbro, albeit this is a much needed upgrade, while Speedball is brand new. |

Just seems ridiculous that Hasbro as usual cheaps out on shit like this. As bad as stuff like the Black Series and TVC Koska Reeves having the totally wrong legs because they just reused Bo-Katan's legs. |

Arguing who is more significant between Speedball and Madame Hydra is a bit silly, IMO. They both seem solidly in the same tier of "fan favorite but not anchoring a wave anytime soon."

Imho on the reveals:
I'll be replacing the Rhino BAF for the new Spider-Man Retro Collection because I prefer the light grey and the face sculpts. It's closer to the Rhino design I know. (First appearance The Amazing Spider-Man #41 from October 1966) The 2022 BAF Controller wave is decent. Glad to see no split Comic/MCU wave which is unfortunately always in MCU favor and a slap in the face for Comic Collectors. Madame Hydra (Madame Viper!!!) - First appearance Captain America #110 from February, 1969. Must have to replace that old Madame Viper 2012 Arnim Zola BAF figure as head of the Serpent Society. I loved the story with her in "Atlantis Arise". Especially vs Punisher and Moonknight! Quake (Daisy Johnson) - daughter of the supervillain Mister Hyde, First appearance Secret War #2 from July, 2004. Commander Maria Hill - First appearance The New Avengers #4 from March, 2005. preordered x2 for the headswaps for both characters. I'll be breaking my collecting rule (none after 1999) to add females to the SHIELD display and replacing the stand-in MCU Maria Hill Avengers Agents of Shield Multi-Pack from 2015. Hopefully some of those funds can go toward missed Pulse Shield army builders US Agent John Walker - First appearance Captain America #354 from June, 1989, he is a must get as well but at the price increase leaves the sculpt too plain... Hoping to see better sculpts with the price increases. Speedball - Fun character to add to the Spider-Man display (as first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #22 of January 1988) Iron-Man Mark 70 (Alex Ross Styled) - I'm skipping since I don't collect the armory. Blue Marvel - First appearance in Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel #1 from November 2008, I'm skipping due to the Collection rule to stop collecting Marvel characters after 1999 since thats when I stopped reading newer releases. Thor Herald of Galactus - First appearance in Thor Vol 6 #1 from January, 2020 - I'm skipping, not the Thor I know, move along BAF Controller - First appearance Iron Man #12 from April, 1969 - enemy of Iron Man. Will attempt to build it. He looks decent and would be an addition to the Iron Man Villains. What If...? Infinity Ultron BAF - Skipping, I'm not into the What If alternate universe. Future Foundation Stealth Spider-Man - Skipping, not interested in the Future Foundation updates. They finally got me on the X-Men VHS Animated Series Cell Shading with Storm... Wolverine, Jubilee, and Storm preordered... Hoping to see it finished with Professor Xavier, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, and Morph! It will be a separate display of just The X-Men for me. The previous releases will be split into Jim Lee Comic Blue and Gold teams. |

Besides, it's always fun to speculate which figure might be the top seller or be in the highest demand among any wave. |

I kinda wish there was a different BAF instead of Controller... I could see myself buying 4/5 figs from that wave if I had too... which is really unusual for me for a non X-wave. Otherwise I will probably just get US Agent & maybe Speedball.

People griping bout US Agent looking "plain" must not have ever read the WCA Issues where he made his debut sporting this very costume, it is comic accurate as to how JB drew it, what else do ya want? This is his most iconic look and glad Hasbro thought so as well.
