Looking at the pics on BBTS, it doesn't look like Joker has any bicep articulation. He has double jointed elbows but which means that a swivel joint at the elbow is out. But I can't make out any more articulation points until the shoulder hinge.

They just look so ugly. Why does Superman look like a gorilla and Joker have a fat, non angular face?
I hate that only Multiverse has moved to 7 inch so you can't combine better looking versions like the Mafex ones. |

I'm all in the the Mafex line so don't really need anything here, but yeah I think McFarlane's 7" scale was a dumb move. I haven't bought a single Batman figure from them.

So far the Mcfarlane line being 7 inches hasn't been a detriment other then not scaling with another companies products. Why should they care about scaling with a DKR Joker from Mafex when they want you to buy their version of Joker?
My only issue is that despite the size increase, details in human faces is worse then a 6 inch scale figure and Mcfarlane isn't scaling appropriately within the line. That's not just heights but also the accessories. |

That's not just heights but also the accessories. At least with something like Marvel Legends or Star Wars, I can buy Figuarts or Mafex to support them or go with a better sculpt. Now, they have no reason to make them compatible, yes. But it's so dumb to go with McFarlane and their moronic "we make SEVEN INCH SCALE". Yet more bad decisions on WB's and now AT&T's part. It's hilarious how little effort McFarlane puts into their DC Multiverse line compared to their other lines. |

For everyone saying the faces look messed up--have you read the original comic? When I was younger I wasn't the biggest fan of the artwork because of how characters did not look "attractive" to me, however I have since grown an appreciation for Frank Miller's style and think these actually match it fairly well.

You know how Hasbro would re-release some Marvel BAFs as a single release except with a few tweaks? If McFarlane re-release the horse with different colors he'll make a killing! So many 1/12 characters could use a horse.

I wish. Especially because their Platinum release of All for One would make the perfect body for a Suit Lex Luthor.

DC Direct nailed the sculpts a long time ago, these are kinda hideous. Wonder how much longer exposed pins will be around for....

Wonder if Mcfarlane will offer a more accurate version of the Armored Batman? As you say, this version is bigger but the armored version is not accurate, it is a Mcfarlanized interpretation of Frank Miller Armored Batman with BVS colors, just like other Mcfarlanized characters

Came across the Carrie Kelley figure at Target yesterday. Really, really impressive, and close in quality to the (more expensive) MAFEX figure.
The MAFEX version is better overall due to the pinless joints and wired softgoods cape (the MAFEX wrists and ankles are hidden better as well, as opposed to Todd's ball joints), but otherwise the two are very close considering their respective price points. I'm especially surprised at how well her glasses came out, they're flawless. I was expecting paint slop everywhere. The portrait is very good...the MAFEX version is very loyal to Miller's art, but Todd's version is close and has a slightly more "realistic" take on it, which is nice. Yeah, she's got the side-eye like all of Todd's figures lately, but otherwise Carrie is great. |

It's a wonderful substitute for the MAFEX version, especially considering the price difference. I have the MAFEX 2-pack as well and the QC is fine (except for some wonky paint on Batman's chest emblem...Carrie is perfect, however, see below), but if you're on a budget the McFarlane version is the way to go and you'll be 100% happy.

You can preorder the Mafex Hush Black Batman on BBTS. They reissued it or something and it is listed with an expected arrival of this month.
