No, it's not the version that was originally intended to be released. It's what originally started out as that, ballooning into a massive 4-hour thing packed with more stuff than was ever originally intended to be in there.

The Snyder Cut is all of the footage Zack Snyder shot before he stepped down in 2017, plus additional footage shot in 2020. The additional footage shot last year is believed to help complete the story Zack was telling across Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and his version of Justice League. The Snyder Cut is said to be over 4 hours long.

After Zack Snyder stepped down in 2017, Joss Whedon was brought in to rewrite and reshoot a significant portion of the film. Very little of Zack Snyder's footage was used for the 2017 theatrical release. However, Whedon did base many of his shots on Snyder's work so part of the Snyder Cut will look similar to the theatrical cut.

It's definitely better than about 98% of what passes for "official" movie posters these days.

I am not really a big DC fan so I never even saw the first Justice League... or even Batman v Superman yet. I did see Suicide Squad for some reason though. LOL. I also loved Man of Steel.

I can't wait for the Snyder Cut... this will be like when they made two different versions of the same Exorcist movie... I saw both versions and both felt super different even though they used a lot of the same footage for the setup.

The only DC movie I've watched was Shazam. I'm willing to give the Snyder Cut a try.

But this Darkseid figure.......it looks horrible.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the 3 different views on it & hey, now I'm stoked on seeing it. Seeing anything like that not many,if any!, movies have ever had within 5 year reshoot to fix it. I wonder if this will happen more in days to come. Like 2007 Transformers ROTF & DOTM done over using the same idea is actually something I'd get behind if done correctly. I bet the fans would too (more of the second and last choices rather than the first necessarily, but who knows).

Snyder originally was going to shoot Justice League as 2 movies. Part 1 and part 2... many retail locations still list the movie as Justice League part 1. Before Snyder left, he had made a rough cut he showed some of the actors that was 4.5 hours without final effects. The studio was against a two-part film, and wanted Snyder to trim it down. Snyder left due to his family tragedy. Joss was hired and told by the studio to restructure the film to work as one shorter movie that would compete with the Marvel blockbusters. He reshot 70% of the movie to fit the DC universe in an MCU formula, which felt forced and weird to people.

There are tons of interviews, Twitter posts, and info on the tumultuous history of the Justice League movie... but honestly, you are better off just watching the cartoons.

I loved the Joss Whedon cut of Justice League, because it reminded me of “old school” fun super hero movies. If they called the movie “Super Friends” it would have been perfect. I loved the quippy heroes. 1978’s Superman is still the greatest super hero film to me, even though Supes didn’t throw a single punch. That being said, I’m somewhat interested on how Snyder can drag the bland “dark” Snyder versions of heroes to 4 hours.

Shazam was fun. I really hope they keep the energy and tone from Shazam and Aquaman in future DC movies. MOS, BVS were just too depressing imho... visually and story wise.

The likeness of the human characters are horrible. None of them look like the actors. They somewhat resemble them, but that's it. The WW1984 fig didn't look like Gadot, so they just can't pull off a realistic likeness I guess. Makes little sense.

You haven't seen the movie, so you don't know if it's dumb. It isn't the same as the 2 hour theatrical cut with 2 more hours added on to it. It's almost new footage. They are only using around 25 to 50% of the theatrical cut, so as much as an hour and 30 minutes of the 2 hr theatrical is going away and they're putting in 3.5 hours of new footage.

Yeah, it's basically the same storyline, but with the Snyder Cut it's all about the journey to the end and not the end itself. The big flashback to the battle against Steppenwolfe and Darkseid before he was Darkseid is about 20-30 minutes long in this version instead of the 5 minutes we got in the theatrical, and there will be a team of Green Lanterns instead of just the one. We're getting an entirely different looking final battle (the part with the red sky in Whedon's cut) that will no longer have that horrible red sky, no stupid family in a house, Batman driving around in his Dark Knight Returns tank, Steppenwolfe getting his head cut off and Martian Manhunter showing up at the end to join the team. Willem Dafoe's character from Aquaman is getting put back in along with all of the Atlantis footage that got cut. All of Cyborg's backstory is going back in and amounts to half an hour or more. The 2nd Knightmare which is another half hour or more with Batman fighting alongside Cyborg and Deathstroke in a possible future and having a conversation with a new and improved Leto Joker is another huge sequence. We're even getting the original Wonder Woman bank robbery sequence full version with the bomb going off in the building like in the trailers instead of what we got last time.

This is the same basic storyline but told in a much more satisfying way. It will actually match Man of Steel and BvS tonally and will properly complete Superman's character arc going from an alien being unsure of hmself and where he fits on Earth and ending as the confident hero that they tried to pull of in the Whedon cut. It was a rushed mess missing the heart and soul of the film, and now we get that heart and soul back, and the proper ending to Snyder's Superman Trilogy (because that's what it is at the end of the day...he's said it himself that this is a Superman trilogy about him going from a dark place to a much lighter one and it appears he pulled it off with flying colors).

I loathe Zack Snyder and what he did/tried to do with the DC Characters. I can't wait for a not dark depressing Justice League movie not done by him in the long distant future.

No offense, but just as he's assuming it'll be dumb, you're assuming it'll be great haha

Being dark and edgy just for the sake of it doesn't work all the time. Look at what happened to that last Fantastic Four movie, it had the same problem with BvS too, the lighting and story's too dark for audiences to care about and it rightfully flopped.

Todd has refused my demands for a Cheetah figure!

He didn't paint Flash's wires but Mattel did?

Gee, now that we seem to already know everything that's going to happen in the movie, why even bother watching it?

Anyway, in regards to these figures: They look like ass. I'm sorry, but even McFarlane is capable of better than this.

$39.99?! WTF McFarlane? They're more expensive than the BAF figures ($24.99).

They are not coming out until next year?!! LOL what a dumb thing to do. These figures don't really look all that great compared to some of the other McFarlane DC figures they have released. Easy pass for me.

Surely that release date is just a placeholder. No way McFarlane solicits figures that you have to wait nearly a year for, when their track record is much faster.
