I preordered all four, but I may pass on Buttercup and Fezzik ultimately. The likenesses are so far off base it looks like the Turkish version called The Sultan's Arranged Partner.
Even Mel Brooks would say "oy vey". |

PO'd at BBTS. I hope it sells well enough as there are a lot of characters to get to. Wave 2 should at least have Prince Humperdink, perhaps Vizzini, then throw in peasant Wesley and Buttercup.

Yeah just getting the 2 I had initially felt I would because when will we get something like these in this scale? Not happy with the upclose HD pics (agree with ShabbyBlue and UNIQGEEK). That Buttercup is definitely not Robin Wright, looks like either Joss Stone or Lea Seydoux. And I wouldnt hold my breathe with McFarlane going past these 4, he usually doesnt complete, look at the Game of Thrones line. It's funny cause in this regard, I probably would be more forgiving for likeness misses for the remaining characters for this IP.

Kind of makes the first Fezzik figure pointless to buy now right, unless you really want that rock accessory. I might just cancel the preorder for him and preorder the 2nd Fezzik instead for the cloak.

"Likeness"
You keep saying that word, Todd. I don't think it means what you think it means. |

Yeah... other than Inigo, the likenesses on these figures range from mediocre to terrible. A bummer- McFarlane keeps getting good licenses, and making sub-par figures for them.

Looks like side eye is infecting all McFarlane.
Todd, they look like mannequins not because they are looking forward. It's because your sculpts are ass and and the faces have zero lifelike paint on them. |

Yeah, Inigo looks perfect. Really impressive. Everyone else's heads are way too small (they're literally half the size that they should be) and the likenesses are mostly garbage. Andre's head is especially tiny and his lips look like fucking suitcase handles. Wesley is unrecognizable and is that supposed to be stubble on his face or did he fall chin-first into cow poop? Oh, and everyone who isn't Inigo has the side-eye. AGAIN. I mean, is this a goofy stylistic choice (if so...why?) or is the guy painting all of Todd's figures in Hong Kong just fucking with us at this point? |

Yeah these are ridiculously bad. Wesley's pinhead is ridiculous, how do these things get approved? Vizzini is a terrible likeness.

For some odd reason Hasbro doesn't have this issue with them looking like "mannequins" as Todd said. |

I picked up the Buttercup Red Dress version but returned it. I couldn't justify the $25 price point to myself given how small she seems.

It's either I get them, it never get them.
I doubt we'll see another company go this deep. I was hoping QMX would do more, but have not heard about the indigo release since nytf 5 years ago or so. |

I absolutely know what you mean, but I just can't support these. I don't love the Super7 Andre the giant but it's close enough. If these were that close I'd be ok. They're just not at all, plus not even correctly sized in addition to bad sculpts.

I bought the masked Westley and he is a really nice figure with two huge flaws. One is the horrible way they painted on his stubble. Man, that looks like he just has filth on his ace. The other is the extremely floppy sword. I like the original Inigo likeness but they shifted his eyes to the left when they gave him a right handed grip. This Fezzik looks better and Vizzini looks nice as well. If they can give us a smirking Inigo and a Westley without the dirt stubble and no floppy swords I would really enjoy this line more.

Wasn't overly happy when I got the masked Westley (Pirate Roberts). Inigo is the best of the bunch except for the sword. Either quality control is getting worse for the accessories and swords or its because of the delays and baking in their shipping containers (maybe both), but starting to see them more frequently across all McFarlane toys. 3 retools for one new one. But its still a new figure when I felt there wouldnt be more waves. A shame for the Vizzini, miss on facesculpt. It needed to have a bit more "weasley" look but this looks like George Costanza at a ren-fair to me.

I wonder if there's a safety component, though? Like, sharp pointy objects have to be made softer than in the past?

Yeah, I've been disappointed by how flimsy recent swords seem to be. I've been buying swords that came with the 1999/2004 Mandarin Spawn to use with my DC figures, and they've held up well despite the passage of time.
