Street Date: 2021-11-10 MSRP: $25 Price I Paid: $23 Scale: 7-inch (or 1/10) This is a retail-wide release, but GameStop / GameStop.com seems to be the only place that has it in stock. https://www.gamestop.com/collectible...re/295852.html ---------- McFarlane Toys released the first version of the Ciri action figure in September 2021. The company also announced an Elder Blood variant for November 2021, with a light blue replacing brown paint apps. Covid-related delays have made a mess of distribution, so the only place I have found that actually has the Elder Blood variant in stock is GameStop / GameStop.com. The MSRP is $25, but GameStop frequently has one- or two-day sales on action figures. I don't play the video games or watch the Netflix series, but I've been expanding to other McFarlane lines in order to collect additional female characters. The packaging is the same size as the ones used for the DC Multiverse line. I like that the extra cardboard at the top has creases so that it can be folded; this helps avoid tearing that is common when the DC Multiverse boxes stay in stores for a long time. Ciri has a plastic tie around her thighs holding her in place in the plastic tray. There's a very thin plastic tie holding the sword/scabbard in place, too. There's a circle base stand attached to the red cardboard backing. You'll also find a magical blade effect on the cardboard backing, which oddly was not shown in solicitation photos even though the photos for the first version of the action figure showed it. McFarlane started releasing Witcher figures in 2021. They share the same articulation system used for the Fortnite (2018), Mortal Kombat (2019), and DC Multiverse (2020) lines. This figure also has a peg hole in its back, similar to the Fortnite figures, so that you can attach Ciri's sword scabbard. The head can be rotated 360 degrees. The upper torso is technically a separate piece with some articulation, but the shirt/tunic is an overlay that prevents 360 turning. Unlike the Kitana figure that I reviewed yesterday, this one does not have shoulder pads restricting upward arms movement. The legs can go into a deep split. The overall build quality is very nice. I would say her QC is better than many of the DC figures that I have! Her feet/boots are so well-designed that she can stand with minimal posing effort, even without the included base stand. You will need a base stand for dynamic poses, though. Ciri comes with two accessories, a sword with scabbard and the aforementioned magical blade effect. The sword is comically long for her, lol. I like that we're getting a fully enclosed scabbard rather than the half-exposed "sheath" that curls over time that we got with Deathstroke. Ciri has an overall height of about 6.6 inches, though she's closer to 6.3 inches tall if you subtract the boots' heels. This figure was a pleasant surprise, so I may consider getting the one based on the Netflix series. Areas of concern: -- The tassels on the back of the right upper arm might break if you're not careful.
