We were talking about this over in the Mezco One:12 thread. For the One:12 we came to the conclusion it's probably Friday The 13th Jason, Cyclops, Justice League Flash, next version of Batman OR the long awaited Michael Keaton Batman, Netflix Punisher and Homemade Suit Spider-Man from Homecoming

I don't think that is the Michael Keaton Batman. I think it's Mezco's next Batman in line with the "Ascending Batman" |

If it is Jason, to spend $80 on a figure that NECA sells for $25 is going to be a tough pill to swallow. He needs to be like something we have never seen before. If the mask isn't removable, it wouldn't be not as good IMO.

That's pretty much how I feel about all of Mezco's one:12 offerings. $80 is more expensive than the imports. I guess if you truly love soft good on everything, but otherwise meh. And like you said NECA offers a huge range of Jason's for a lot cheaper.

I must say, I definitely agree with this list. Soon as I saw this picture, I thought it was Jason on the left. I don't know how Mezco would be able to make a Jason considering NECA has the license. If it is Jason, to spend $80 on a figure that NECA sells for $25 is going to be a tough pill to swallow. He needs to be like something we have never seen before. Unless it's a Master Toy License, meaning NECA gets say on who can produce specific items, then other companies can apply for very specific licensing. Everything from exact size, to points of articulation, to price point can be used to generate a new license. Points of articulation and price point are two things I've heard from multiple people as being a way to license properties they otherwise wouldn't have access to.

Not every single one is absolutely flawless perfection but they do a lot of things right. You really have to try to get one of the ones that are cheaper to find like the classic Daredevil or Commander Rogers or the variant Spocks that are generally hovering around $40 or less and play with it to see what the deal is. I have no quibble whatsoever paying the MSRP on the ones I'm interested in over a $25-30 figure. The quality is there, and they're total hand candy.

Don’t get me wrong, I have the NYCC Wolverine, I know they are really good quality. For characters that you don’t see made into quality figures, I like Mezco. There’s plenty of Jason figures already out there, and more are coming. That being said, I would buy something much different. It looks like they’re making a new LDD.
I have 4 Mezco 1:12 - DKR,Punisher,BVSarmored & the most recent yellow/tiger stripes Wolverine. The 1st 3 figures are great and i could not find any flaws in them. When i got my hands on wolverine though, i was really dissapointed, a white blotch on his face, one elbow joint is completely unpainted and the crotch stiching seems ready to be torn apart. I hope i was just unlucky and got the one with the QC and not that Mezco tried to catch some deadlines (due to the constant and understundable social media poking from us) so the final product was sloppy -which is still no EXCUSE but you know. Anyway i was hoping for a comic version of Thor figure and Hulk, but i am still thankfull for new things to wait for. |

I dont think NECA and Mezco are a proper comparison.
Different scale and quality. There is a place for Jason from Mezco. Many collectors collect multiple scales and offerings and to have a Jason digure is fine by me. Being on Mike Myers. 80 dollars for a fully cloth, accessorized and well articulated version of Jason and Mike is enough a reason to get it imo. I find myself buying less legends and buying more premium items the past year, and I think me and Marvel legends have kind of broken up. Jason us the type of item I feel will be used as I contiue my sacrificing of my legends. Now Keaton Batman....I hope you are right. I buy anything Keaton. I hope you guys are right. |

Long before Mezco One:12 Collective, Mezco actually made several Jason figures. They were part of the Cinema of Fear collection, I'm sure you remember. Comparing One:12 and NECA may not be 100% fair, but comparing NECA and Mezco is totally fair. When you look some of Mezco's past attempts at Jason figures, they just don't hold up to NECA. Just like many of you guys quickly notice issues with Mezco's Marvel and DC figures, I'm gonna be the same way with Mezco's Horror figures. Truthfully the only reason I have to spend $80 on a Jason figure is to simply have something in scale with the Michael Myers. Yes, I did preorder the Michael Myers One:12. That's a very expensive license that nobody has touched in this scale for years, so yeah we have to pay a little more for a figure of him. If this is a One:12 Jason and it has a lot to offer, I'll consider it. If the mask isn't removable, and it looks like a shrunken down version of that crappy Sideshow figure recently released, then I'm gonna pass. |
