Amazing! Thanks for the heads up! Just pre-ordered mine at BBTS for less than what Mezco is selling it for.

If I were still into 3.75" figures I would have gotten this! Hopefully Mezco will decide to make these creatures in the One:12 line someday.

Mezco STILL hasn't shipped out the Batman 66 figure set so I'm gonna have to pass on this...

I totally forgot about that set. The only 5 Points stuff I've ordered is the Godzilla stuff. I just checked their website and it's now Dec-Feb 2022.

Fish-Man is dumb. He's an obvious no-copyright-was-infringed riff on the Gill-Man from The Creature From the Black Lagoon, but the whole point of the creature is that he's humanoid enough to engage the audience's empathy.

Yeah that would be great. I think I mention this way too often but I love the King Kong they did a few years ago. I want more stuff like that.

I'm just going to mention that Mezco making these all public-domain, original creations is a great way to go. No need to fork out big bucks to Universal for licenses. I'm sure they've paid a bundle for the Toho line.
That said, the Werewolf design kind of reminds me of the 1956 movie, The Werewolf. Which is cool.

Scooby-Doo???

I saw that Black Lagoon Figure and heard, "Blawahwahwah". Murloc from Hearthstone.

Doesn't bother me too much. I'd get the set. Thinking about it. Not really liking the Drac or Mummy. Tough call.

And ordered. I'm 42 and was a kid at just the tail end of put together, cardboard playsets was the norm. So this thing is hitting so many nostalgia points for me.

You mean Warcraft, and yeah, reminded me of those days walking in Azeroth grinding resources...

I mean...yeah he's an obvious riff on the Gill Man. In case it wasn't obvious this whole set is a riff on the Universal Monsters without actually being the Universal Monsters.

But design-wise Fish-Man seems to have drawn his inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft's Deep Ones, which IMO is a pretty sensible way to go about it. I doubt Mezco really cares about how much empathy anyone has for a little plastic creature.

^I was thinking Dagon's Deep Ones as well. It seemed pretty obvious. I prefer that brand of more grotesque merfolk.
