ComicFigs.Net - Marvel Universe Series 6
Is this head sculpt the norm now? Has Hasbro seen our complaints and made a production change, or was this picture just of a diamond in the rough? Let me know guys, this wave hasn't hit me yet. If the head sculpts are better than the initial pictures, I want to know so I can make sure and find a good one. Thanks guys. Peace. |

Goofy faced Logan is what hit my store.
I have a feeling this will be a 'running change' and we will see them in the revision wave along with the 2 variants. |

Comicfigs buys their figures. Which is why they have holes in their collections like the secret wars wave 2s.
So that's definitely the carded figure. The entire 'product may vary' spiel comes to mind. But this time for the better! |

I think Comicfigs gets some stuff sent from Hasbro. Nobody knew we were getting those variants at all until he posted those pics. He also got the Gigantic Battle sets before anybody reported finding them at retail. He never answered as to where he got them from.

I have the mongoloid-looking wave 6 Wolvie. I would hope they completely switch to the variant head and never go back to the first one. In my wild imagination, someone that oversees the line finally got a look at the barf that was winding up on Wolverine's neck and ordered another sculpt pronto, maybe even pulled it from another Wolvie in progress. Or it could have just been a planned variant. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Tremendous difference if you ask me. One looks like a half assed attempt to make Wolverine look like his animated version, and the latter looks more realistic and true to the comic art.
Glad to see Hasbro taking pride in their designs and listening to customer feedback. It shows that they really value their customers.

Great improvement over the initial sculpt. Of course, I've never cared too much for the unmasked Logan - mostly because the sculpts looked like crap almost every time.

Yes it does. I passed on this fig because it is real ugly. If we get the better sculpted head, I will definitely get this fig.

It's been a few weeks and I've found nothing but regular depressed face Logan. Anyone find the head variant yet?

Maybe when we start finding the Vision and Warpath variants this will show up also.

There's no way I'll add that first head to my collection.

I don't think anybody knows where Comicfigs get there pictures from but they must have some sort of connection with the manufacturer or hasbro staff because I'm 99% sure all those pics are of prototypes or special pre-release versions because I've never seen MU figs that look that good in stores. Plus they get their pictures up on their site before any retailers actually them for sale including e-bay scalpers.
I know this site updated their pictures, they initially had the better looking sculpt. Marvel Universe Series 2 WOLVERINE Action Figure Ask retailers, like this one, about the variants and they'll tell you that they do not exist. At least not at retail/distribution level. |

At first I was going to post on here and tell everyone to calm down and quite whining. But after looking at the two back to back, the newer sculpt (whether it comes out or not) is far superior. The head sculpt speaks for itself but the body sculpt is more refined, Wolverine looks leaner and less dumpy, thereby making the legs give off a less "top heavy" appearance. I already have the released version but I would probably buy this variant if it ever exists.

The images of the better sculpt were available before the crappier one came out, meaning, for some odd reason they changed from the cool sculpt last minute to the crappy one. The crappy sculpt IS the "NEW" one.
Pay attention to previous MU releases and you'll see that the only thing they change in revised re-releases is the paint job, that's it. There's an Iron Fist with closed fist/open hand variants but that's a simple task of just interchanging hands. |

Well considering you're wrong, that kind of makes what you're saying void. :P

There's an oft-missed image of wave 6 Wolverine busting out of a hole in a building in the Galactus diorama at SDCC09. It was the retard-face version. I know Marvelousnews has the pic. No one had seen the new unmasked wolvie headsculpt until Comicfigs posted it.

Whatever. I believe the vast majority of us are all in agreement. We will avoid the retarded face Wolverine like the Swine Flu and only look to purchase the one that comicfigs posted, if it ever gets released.
