Hell yea it does. I tried to do some imaginary scaling. If 1 GI Joe figure is supposed to fit inside that "bridge", this thing is small.

Not that surprised about it being small. I mean when was the last time we actually had a huge ass play set for a toyline?
And when we do, how well do they honestly end up selling? |

True, but market them as a "mail order" item and it'd sell like crazy. We should be getting that stupid thing for subscribing to Marvel digital, not an action figure.

I am a to scale guy and this isn't that. I like the concept but no for me. If it were like the G.I. Joe USS Flag(Still not to scale but pretty dam big) I would bite.

Cool! A Star Brigade Starfighter launch platform.
Look at the door on the side of the control tower. Now look at the seat right next to it on the cannon. So lame! Last edited by Noisemaze; 02-01-2012 at 02:02 AM.. |

The lamest part was sticking the antenna/guns/whatever on the front to make it a few inches longer to say, "It is 3' long!" The "bridge" is laughable - looks more like an on-deck latrine! I give Hasbro credit for trying, but a larger quinjet would have been far better received. It looks cool - but more like a model you hang from your ceiling after you cut off the chair on the gun and pray no one notices the bridge door. If you filled it with toy jets, people would think it was a matchbox scale helicarrier.

its supposed to be 3 feet long. I'm still gonna get it. SHIELD has been known to use mini carriers and even without that, it would look GREAT in the background of a large scale dio

this would look pretty badass if it were hung from the ceiling. with some Avengers flying over top. but this is about half to a third the size it should be.

Even though there is absolutely no chance I'll ever buy this thing, I do think it looks good, and realistically is as big as they could have made it. In all honesty, I wouldn't have expected them to make something this big. The movie is going to be a big hit, but it's no Star Wars.
Maybe on an extreme sale/clearance for like fifteen bucks, but even then I'd be giving it to a friend as a gift (he's got a good amount of Marvel 3-3/4" scaled figures).

It might work for a MegaBloks or Lego display...

The scale just really feels all over the place so what might have been cool just doesn't seem as cool.
Most of the toy looks like it might be great to put something like Hot Wheels or Matchbox sized jets on because then it would look a bit closer to scale. Perhaps even use it for the tiny scale Halo stuff. But that huge door and mess of a control tower messes up the idea of mirco scale. Just feels like it's going to be a bit pricey if you have to do too much work to get something cool out of it. |

Sigh. It's looking very disappointing. I still wanna check it out first hand though.
What are you talking about? The Joe Aircraft Carrier is 6' 1/2 ft long.

The more I look at this, the more it looks like an add-on for something bigger. Attach it to the GI Joe HQ or the Terror Drome or some other large playset.

Maybe slap four of them together...to get something still crazy small for even a minicarrier.
I wonder if the movie version looks anything like this. |
