Oh hey we finally get to see the box for the Freddy's Revenge ultimate figure, still waiting for that figure to release.

All of the figures on this list are pretty excellent and I own all of them except for the unreleased characters, but I'm honestly surprised the EndoCop and terminator Dog are considered Ultimate figures when you're not getting a lot with them... A standard deluxe release maybe, but certainly not an ultimate.

I feel that way about a few of these figures actually, but the EndoCop is just the latest in the "Ultimate" line that just makes me kind of scratch my head.

I was really jazzed when Old Man Ash was getting the Ultimate treatment until I found the figure at TRU and discovered that he has a really orange looking flesh tone. It's a very fantastic sculpt, but couldn't bring myself to pay for it due to that Jersey Shore look it's sporting.

And, the Ultimate Bad Blood and Enforcer look killer. Hopefully the 11 new ones won't be the last I buy. Once the f***ing disney logo starts appearing on the boxes, I'm done.

That Disney said they're keeping clear of direct involvement with Fox's original properties I think then means that we're not going to see them showing up on any of NECA's products. Disney only likes slapping their name on it if they can really call it theirs and something that's more all ages appropriate, of course they're happy to reap the profits of everything else under their umbrella but the name seems reserved for their pickings. For what it's worth the Marvel Legends based on the movies don't sport the Disney logo on the box and Disney has had Marvel since 2009.

Well, that's good news, though I'll be hesitant to give any money to them, in any case. What are the chances NECA loses the license and Hasbro starts on Alien and Predator?

To my understanding thus far the chances of this occurring are slim to none. Even if for some ridiculous reason NECA somehow lost those licenses then Hasbro would not be the one to pick it up, it's just not their style. Hasbro keeps things PG-13 at the most so licenses with such heavy footing in the R rated market wouldn't exactly fit in with the image they sell of family friendly fun. Yeah you could make the argument that the Netflix Marvel figures break that view but the characters, regardless of them being the Netflix "not for kids" versions, are sourced from comic books which aren't always so restrictive with their target audience.

Even better news. I'll keep my fingers crossed, then. Still, it will be pretty hard for me to put any money into the evil empire's coffers.

Finally, the official reveal of Dutch and Linn, and first confirmation that we're actually getting Linn in the Capcom AvP line. So psyched that the arcade line will be complete...I will officially build my first hand-crafted dio for the AvP arcade wave, as this is my favorite beat-em-up of all time.

They both look good, but I wish Linn's head sculpt was a wee bit more Anime-influenced. She looks off, but the final retail version might look better. But hell, I'm just glad she made the cut. The line would have been a letdown is she wasn't included. I wonder if she's using some of Vasquez's parts?

Funny...after the Dante debacle, I thought NECA wasn't working with Capcom again? I wonder how they made this wondrous achievement happen? But however they did it, I have to give all the props to the world to NECA for being so hardcore...a complete action figure line based on a 1994 2-d side-scrolling arcade beat-em-up that was never released on a home system (unless you're a MAME user, that is). So rad.

Randy said on twitter that Capcom has no involvement in the AvP game figures and that they aren't working with them.

But...how is that possible? Is just having the overall Alien license enough to allow NECA to use any aspect of it? I mean, Dutch and Linn are Capcom creations (although Dutch is obviously named/modeled after Arnold's character in Predator), and they're using Capcom's original promotional artwork on the packaging. But hey, however it's happening, I'm just glad it's happening.

BTW, Joe, comments not activated in the NECA xmas reveal thread?

It's likely that Fox owns the rights outright to all of those designs. But it all depends on how Capcom originally licensed the properties. Chances are, after the initial license expired for the arcade game, all creations and licensing reverted to Fox. Much how they didn't need Konami's approval for the Aliens arcade Xeno.

Also, didn't create a thread for the Xmas reveals. People had bumped up most of the original threads. So didn't want to split out those conversations into another thread.

Yeah, you're probably 100% right...it's likely the main reason the game was never "officially" released for home consoles, despite huge demand. Everything went back to Fox.

Considering what happened with Dante, if Capcom was involved with the AvP line it probably never would have ending up happening. I bet being able to circumvent Capcom in this instance is NECA's way of saying "FU" to them, heh.

AvP Arcade Linn and Dutch both look great, but I'd love to see some more detailed pictures of them. I'm super excited for both of them along with Broken Tusk and Noguchi. The old school AvP games/comics were so much better than those shitty movies we ended up getting.

Licensing is a very strange thing to deal with. At my job, I contend with it in an advertising capacity (video clips, stock images, music), and dealing with some of those licensing demands is challenging on the best of days. I can't imagine what it's like dealing with properties like this, where the licensing can be splintered across multiple owners.

That's all they had to do...a live-action play-through of the game. I would have been happy.

Agreed. Wasn't the AvP arcade game loosely based on an early draft of a script for an AvP film? I'd pay cash money to get a chance to read that script.
