Not a lot but some very cool things. Demona is #1 for sure. She looks amazing. I agree with DrKain about Thallog though. But I figured that they would repaint Goliath for that as maybe an exclusive. I'm surprised at some of you in terms of Macready though. That just seemed obvious that they would rerelease him with a flamethrower. I was hoping to see that Hooper they were hinting at or to know if full sized Bruce the shark was still happening. The Mummy looks pretty neat too.

I didn't actually watch the panel so I wouldn't know if they said anything about it, but maybe the "survivor" MacReady will have different paint apps and they were just using the current figure here to show off the accessories.

Also forgot to mention the Dr. Loomis two pack. I want Donald Pleasance and I guess the Michael Myers as the Human Torch is alright but like Dolemite said those flames do look weird. It looks spiky shoulder pads. He looks like Endeavor from My Hero Academia. Also kind of happy about the Phantom rerelease. Didn't find any of the Defenders of the Earth figures and gave up especially after hearing about the horrible quality control on them. So hopefully this one is more easily available and with those problems fixed. I don't want to spend $30 on something that is going to shatter its foot or hip right out of the package.

NECA is a small company with limited means, I get it. But they clearly have zero idea how to maximize their lines since they buy licenses and do almost nothing with them but repaints and re-releases. NECA used to be exciting. Now they're just boring as fuck. Quote:
You can't just repaint Ming and Flash in the 1980 movie colors and have people accept that those are the actual movie figures when they don't have the right headsculpts and actor likenesses or accurate costume details.

And a Phantom that finally comes with a pair of pistols that the first release should have included (more Kong/Macready forced-double dipping).

Are you? Please explain where Childs was officially announced by NECA so we can celebrate with you.

I've not watched the stream, but judging by the screenshots I'm disappointed. A lot of stuff that I don't care about.
Best reveal for me was the Dr. Loomis and Michael Myers 2 pack, I did not expect that. Loomis looks very impressive. Michael looks like he might have a new mask sculpt. The face looks different. Also looks to come with some new hands as well. I hope this set will be widely available and not just at comic shops/online. The swappable arms/removable trench coat is brilliant, but I agree that the flames look a bit weird. Hopefully the QC will be good, I've not had the best luck when it comes to Neca's 2 packs. Where's the Thing? Are they seriously going to drag this out? I thought for sure we'd see it today in at least one form. I'm glad we're getting Mac with the flamethrower, but like others said the figure looks almost identical to the one we just got, I hope he has more accessories and heads than what was shown. At least the flamethrower looks perfect. I will pick him up, I don't mind having multiples but they need to show us more than this. It feels like tmnt have taken over as their priority at Neca. And where the hell is the Hammer horror stuff? Still no follow up yet on that original Evil Dead Ash teaser either. |

With the $20 shipping though it really hurts to buy direct from them when they do offer these exclusives. They just need to find a better balance. Some of these licenses they pick up don't exactly have a ton of variety. So it makes sense that they rerelease figures with a new coat of paint. Some of these properties would be better served if there was say a revival. I also assume their method is difficult because getting likeness rights is a hurdle. Along with keeping them. |

Seeing how quickly they repainted Goliath into Thailog, I now have a really good feeling that we'll see Angela pretty soon.

Eh, I can't blame you for wishful thinking. If I could have just one other human character from The Thing other than MacReady, I would want Childs, hands-down. As you pointed out, Keith David was cool with a They Live figure, I can't see why he'd object to a Childs as well. Last edited by Dolemite; 07-19-2021 at 06:13 PM.. |

It really seems that NECA's presentation today was mostly received negatively. I sure as hell was underwhelmed by just about everything. It's all crappy repaints and re-releases of figures that should have been released that way to begin with, like Casey Jones with an unmasked head sculpt or MacReady with a fucking flamethrower.
NECA is a small company with limited means, I get it. But they clearly have zero idea how to maximize their lines since they buy licenses and do almost nothing with them but repaints and re-releases. NECA used to be exciting. Now they're just boring as fuck. Yup. The first think I thought of when I saw those figures was that they looked like cheap Hong Kong knock-offs of legit Flash Gordon movie figures. Just a stupid, pointless thing for NECA to do Exactly. EXACTLY. |

That's somewhat better then how it was last summer. 15 is still pretty high but it's better. At that point they should just roll the cost into the MSRP to give the illusion I'm not paying half the figure price to shipping.

My son and I watched the live stream. We enjoyed it. I’m loving the Dr.Loomis. I have the old “statue” version. Love Gargoyles. Love the Flash Gordon and phantom stuff. Love the turtles. I actually really like the’ repaint alien arcade figures.
I wanted to see the “Hammer” stuff, and more surprises. Everything shown was guessed by most people for years. The problem is, we have gotten most everything we could want from so many different companies that the “thrill” is gone. Nothing surprises us anymore. The most excited I’ve been in a while was when neca announced gargoyles. Then you have to go to haslab sand BTAS by diamond for any recent excitement. The old days of “Movie Maniacs”, “DCUC”, “MOTUC”, “Cut Classics” and so on are distant memories, relegated to “Toy Fair” and Tomarts magazines. Almost everything we’ve wanted, some company has done, in some cases, many companies. What happened to the “toy dream”? You’re looking at it. It came true. |

I mean, I just bought a action figure the other day of AEW wrestler Orange Cassidy. They actually made an action figure of Orange Cassidy. A really good one, actually. We are literally getting everything we want, and our expectations have been risen to the stratosphere as a result. Maybe we do need to chill? I don't know. |

Honestly, I enjoyed the livestream for the most part. I watched it with a good friend of mine which probably made the stream even more exciting.
The Michael Vs. Loomis 2-pack was definitely a huge highlight for me. I know many here don’t like the flame effects, but I think the execution is awesome. I’m most looking forward to putting those flame pieces on other figures like Frost from Aliens, some Xenomorphs, the Ultimate FVJ Jason figure, Doc Brown with the shocked expression. There are a lot of fun/ wacky possibilities you can do with those effects. Also imagine using them injunction with the MacReady figure’s flamethrower. That’s a big win in my opinion. Loomis is also much needed after all this time and the swap out arms is A+. That being said, I wasn’t as excited about the new MacReady as I thought I’d be. The ultimate Creepshow has me curious. I have the first figure and it’s pretty neat. I was pretty disappointed at the lack of Predator reveals. I was at least hoping to see the Ultimate Shaman or Ultimate Snake. The AVP Arcade Alien movie paint job is OK, but largely unimaginative since the paint job on the first figures actually meshes well with NECA’s movie and Kenner lines. I was surprised by how much Defenders of the Earth figures they revealed which weren’t Mandrake or Lothar. The Boys got more love than I expected. I’m sad we still don’t have Billy Butcher, but I’m happy to see Black Noir and A-Train join the ranks. Just three more members of the Se7en left to go now. I’m excited. Gargoyle reveals we’re just O.K. for me and the same goes for Gremlins, and Back to the Future but all are definite pickups in the future. The TMNT movie line was also alright. The new Super Shredder seems like over saturation, but I guess it’s cool for those who don’t already have the other versions. The cartoon line was A+ as usual, but I wanted to avoid going on another wild goose chase. That Chanel 6 news pack is going to be a pain to find I fear. I just recently found the cartoon 4-pack after three months of searching. All in all though, it was a decent stream. Last edited by AlanThCollector; 07-19-2021 at 08:05 PM.. |

I don't know. 1) Turbo-Man from Jingle All the Way with the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger 2) a dedicated line of 2000 A.D. Dredd figures from the comics and the 2012 movie 3) Mike Harrigan in all his different looks from Predator 2 Those are just a few examples. My list is much longer. I just wanna know when they're going to make a human, any human, from RoboCop. They've made like 10 different versions of Robo from mostly the same molds, an ED-209, and that's it. You'd think after a decade they'd give us Lewis, or Murphy, or Clarence, or unmasked Robo, or anything from a sequel besides the phoned-in flightpack and weapon arm that came with "Ultimate" Robo. I don't know if they've milked any license as long or as hard as RoboCop while producing so little product
