I was just about to Tweet to NECA to inquire about a possible re-release of Freeman, since I love how the figure looks but couldn't find it anywhere for cheap... a quick Google search before I did so revealed this! I'm super stoked, man. Hopefully there will be plenty in stock.

The figure just seems kind of phoned in, as if NECA just wanted to make a famous character they did not care about while they had a deal with Valve. Or maybe it was something Valve wanted them to make.

Me: @NECA_TOYS What made you guys decide to go for a more realistic take on Gordon Freeman?

NECA: @toyhandle artistic decision between us & valve"

Good eye on the differences in the suit. I noticed long ago about the face being more of a realization of Gordan Freeman than a recreation of Gordon Freeman.

I enjoy the figure, but I suggested a future release with a game-accurate head would be cool. However, now knowing that about the collar, I'd be interested to know what else is inaccurate.

Could not be happier about this. Missed Chell the first time around and she goes for crazy prices online.

Looks like they painted the flesh again, as opposed to casting the plastic in that color this time. Kinda bummed about that.

I think I'm gonna have to buy a few of these. Those glasses would work great for 3 customs I've been thinking of doing.

If this reissue looks good I may have to pick one up. Maybe replace Freeman and add another head crab to my custom Half Life diorama.

Funny you should say that, because it was also my first thought after looking through the gallery. Glad I'm not the only one wanting to buy this just for the glasses...

I don't know anything about Portal, but that is some wicked cool packaging.

If you are at all into puzzle/problem solving platform games, then Portal 1 & 2 are excellent to play through. Portal 2 is especially good as they injected a much better story to the whole thing with some great voice talent.

Stephen Merchant as Wheatley is practically gold. J.K. Simmons as Cave Johnson is icing at that point.

I'm not really into video games. The last one I played all the way through was "Arkham Knight". I have a few that I picked up or was given that I have yet to play, including "Last Of Us", "Friday the 13th", "Destiny", and "Fallout 4". I plan on playing F13, but am waiting for single player.

Unlike the Gordon re-release, it looks like Chell's been cast in flesh-colored plastic. I will totally pick one up as my original Chell is kinda cross-eyed.

I also love the "portal" on the rear of the box. Cool design, and it also allows you to check out the back of the figure for QC issues.

If you have a PS3 or an even remotely recent PC, you owe yourself to try Portal. It's a bizarrely original and humorous platforming/puzzle game. One of the best games ever made, IMO.
