I have learned to not get my hopes up. Look what they showed for Borderlands??? Prometheus??? Gremlins??? Ect... and they never got put into production even after NECA showed full painted prototypes. SO until you see it in hand, take it with a grain of salt.

It will likely all depend on how well Series 1 sells.

Yeah. It's nice to see Zira, but I know it's all dependent on how well series 1 sells. I wonder who else she'd be paired with in the 2nd series though. Hopefully not just ape soldier variants. A Taylor/Nova/Zira wave would be perfect. If we can at least get those, then I'd consider this classic Planet of the Apes line complete. Any other characters after that would just be a nice bonus.

I hope that in this instance, you're glad to be proven wrong. Overall this line looks great, both modern apes and classics.

Maybe with Target doing this offer, we could see them selling more NECA figures in the future. The only stores I've seen selling NECA figures are ToysRus and Hastings, so Target would be a nice addition.

I feel like this looks like the best gorilla toy ever (for looking great and having nice pose, not the ultimate pose, but as much as is needed without hurting the stellar sculpt and details).

Awesome gorilla! I was actually torn on whether or not to order the MonsterArts Kong, but for $20, I think this is going to be in my collection instead. As long as he looks half this good in person.
But Luca? Wonder where they got that name. I remember when the movie came out I was looking for the names of the Ape characters, and the lead gorilla (who kept knocking Jason Clarke down) was credited as "Stone." |

That's a "Kong" that fits my budget perfectly!

Luca looks like one helluva toy. I'm really excited about picking this guy up.
Hopefully he's released with alternate head/face sculpts. I'd get 3 or 4.

They showed at SDCC and from the product solicits that Luca comes with a calm face and the angry yelling face seen in these paintmaster shots.

I get so turned on when NEca teases. I kind of wish other companies would tease. It gets me so interested....
Anyone know if Neca will send more S1 Caesar's to the stores? Right now they are a little to pricey. |

Is it just me or does it look like the portrait uses the toys as the picture, which is great. I also wonder what these'll be made of, maybe thin plastic, hopefully not just paper.

I think you're right. I'm not certain but I don't know that a photo exists like that with the original actors. As for the material, the figure they made of Kyle Reese included a little photo like the one taken of Sarah Connor at the end of the first. It's plastic but it's very small and very thin. Incredibly easy to lose but very cool if you position it in his hand just right.
