So why doesn't playmates have a stranglehold on TMNT anymore? I'm not complaining, but it seems weird to me...

Could be a lot of things. They aren't doing much in the collector market, so they may simply be allowing others to fill in. Or NECA may have negotiated extended rights directly with them and Nickelodeon.

Also, look at how the expansion has been slowly building, and where the NECA Turtles stuff is being sold. GameStop, where there's no Playmates presence, Target, but not in the toy aisle, and "specialty stores", where Playmates will likely not have any product. So Playmates is likely not seeing the kids market for their stuff effected much by the collector level stuff.

Hard to tell from promotional shots, but do the Turtles and Foot Soldiers have any significant changes from the original Arcade figures that were released?

I was disappointed when the animated version of Slash was shown off, as even as a kid, I wasn't crazy about the changes they made from the toy to the show.

That said, I think it's pretty spectacular that even with the digi-print on the game version, he looks like he could fit right in with the animated figures with very little to no modifications needed.

I really hope NECA shows off a Metalhead at some point. He was one of my favorite bosses in Turtles in Time.

The Turtles themselves and the Foot soldier, I think, are pretty much the same, with new accessories.

Makes sense to re-release the arcade turtles if they are going to start another line.

Ill continue with the Movie and cartoon line. Its still cool to look at these in pictures though.

Anyone knows if Target will keep the weird "in store" purchase only policy?

Yes, because Target is not handling the NECA inventory. That's all handled by NECA directly.

So they are doing figures from both the home and arcade Turtles in Time? Slash wasn’t in the arcade. It was “Mud Man” and Shredder with a mutating lightsaber was replaced by Super Shredder with a mutating hadoken.
Hopefully they do pirates Bebop and Rocksteady. Those two were hilarious.

It's probably a mix of arcade and SNES versions to maximize the number of characters they can do.

I wish the toon line was at specialty shops so we had easier access to them. Seems crazy that the ones at the major retailer are harder to get than the ones available at specialty shops.

So are these going to be exclusive to anyone? Weird that the video game ones seem to be the only ones you can get anywhere.

Not exclusive, but not at retail I believe. Online stores only. so no Target or Walmart for these.

Other than the hover boards, are Leo and Don any different from the versions in the SDCC 2016 arcade set?

They really changed the Foot Soldier from the first solicit pics. I was hoping to not have to go back and track down the SDCC set on the secondary, since I wasn't buying TMNT at that point. But, the OCD in me needs to have EVERY version. Dangit.

Online stores and your local D&D / comic book “mom & pop” collectibles stores.

I'm still wondering how the foot and turtles are staying on the boards.

I don't see any pegs or they glued them on.

I suspect that each board has a peg at the rear. If you look at the pics from last summer, you can kind of see a peg going into Donnie's right foot in a couple of the pics. Plus, each board rider's rear foot doesn't appear to move very much in each of the shots.
