That Frankenstein and Kongs are mine. However I wish they'd include all those Kong accessories in one Ultimate package.

The hell? Why not just put the plane AND dinos in the same package?

I put it in the other thread, but if anyone in the US finds a Macready and is willing to hook me up, I'm happy to pay for your troubles! I have a Target near me but it's notoriously feast or famine, any help would be appreciated!

It's going to be at Target first but then available everywhere later so if you miss the initial run you should be able to safely pre-order it from an online store like BBTS or Dorkside.

Hey man, you've seen me on these boards long enough to know that I don't trust NECA as far as I could throw them (if they were personified and not a company ) I wouldn't put it past Target to order a production run of 1982 and then melt down the molds, while simultaneously Universal rescinds the merch right for The Thing! In short, I'm a paranoid bastard haha

Look decent, but would like a bit more variety with Homelander for a head. Have something like that hammy smile.

I'm going to be honest, that Homelander is...not good. That head sculpt looks awful.
I really like the Doc Brown, though! |

So how much do you bet we'll be getting a 5th Kong set eventually where the only new thing is a tiny Ann Darrow? Like others said above, I'm also annoyed at having to buy multiple identical Kongs just to get all these accessories that should have been bundled in a single more pricey set! I already got the first release and the pastel colored repaint, and I'll probably get these 3rd and 4th releases for the biplane and creatures too. But I have no use for the 2 extra Kongs I'll be getting in these releases. I wish they would have included Ann in one or both of these sets (maybe 2 different sculpted poses) and also alternate Kong heads with different expressions (like a serious closed mouth face). Both heads in each set look identical to the first release.
For 2015 Doc Brown - I'm amazed they got the licensing rights to include the USA Today newspaper logo on the packaging, which makes it all the more frustrating that they didn't include a tiny version of that paper in this set as one of his accessories. At least he comes with his futuristic binoculars. Frankenstein - I'm glad to see the colored version is coming (no big surprise really) since the teases for the Mummy and Wolfman were in color instead of black and white. I may just pass on all black and white versions and just get the colored versions. Macready - His lack of flamethrower makes me think NECA is going to do a 2nd version later on with that accessory. Maybe a snow-weathered repaint of the figure? I really want a Keith David Childs figure too. Last edited by ShabbyBlue; 05-16-2021 at 07:57 PM.. |

I feel like NECA is just calling every figure they do ultimate now.
Aside from MacReady these other figures don’t feel very ultimate. Nothing is ultimate about characters that include the bare minimum accessory wise and the price on these have now passed the $35 threshold. BBTS is selling them for $37.99 now. To put it into perspective the Terminator Dark Fate figures NECA came out with a year ago had about as much as The Boys figure they’re putting out and they were $10+ less on average. Kong also should have just come with an accessory set too. Price criticism aside, I’m also disappointed with the way Homelander and Starlights head-sculpts turned out. And judging by how long it took NECA to get these two out, I doubt we’ll get the entire Seven team or many more of the main characters from the show. I know it sounds like I gripe a lot, but NECA really is one of my favorite action figure companies on the market, and I feel like as time passes we’re just getting less bang for our buck. I feel like I'm fine with my Mafex Homelander I already have on order, but I wouldn't mind Starlight because I suspect Mafex will do the other Seven first.
Agreed with the poster who said they are calling everything "Ultimate" now. It's to price gouge, like all toy lines seem to be doing raising prices AFTER the pandemic for some reason (aka to make up for losses). None of these feel Ultimate, especially when you have almost the same figure with a different accessory released right next to each other. "Ultimate" for me is "the definitive version of this character from this movie". None of these remotely are. |

There was a report a couple of months ago that NECA notified their retailers of a price increase across the board of everything by like $10, so these are kind of in line with that. I don't get the Ultimate descriptor either.
They don't even do actual 'Ultimates' anymore. They had like 4-5 Ultimate Pennywise's. I didn't buy any of them since I was hoping to get 1 actual Ultimate package with all the options. I wound up just buying the Mafex one during a heavy sale for like $28. |

I'm okay with the prices going up.
Prices have gone up on everything and NECA's prices have not increased as much as some other products. What I'm not okay with is NECA offering two of the exact King Kong figures, figures that are 90% the same as the one that I already have, but each with different accessories. That's an amazing sale. |

I'm still not OK with price increases because there is no reason for it. It's just because they lost money during the pandemic so every company is raising their money to make up for it.

Which include NECA's supply and transportation chain. You realize that, right?

... That's a reason right there bud. Would you rather they raise prices or scale back on all the stuff they give us and no longer take risks on more obscure licenses?

To be fair a lotta these “ultimates” as of late are light on gear. I mean for fucks sake those defenders of earth figs are 35 bucks man. And phantom is supposed to have two gun hands but only has one. I took that shit back.
